Re: THE RAPTURE--WHEN--PART 7 WHEN IS THE WHEAT HARVESTED
could you tell me what the site is for the Bible browser is. Those translations are good. Evidently, the word for "harvest" means to "cut". This explanation fits perfectly with the verse in Jeremiah about how God "Reserves unto us the 'APPOINTED WEEKS' for the Harvest (i.e. the 'cutting of the grain')". Pentecost is called the Feast of WEEKS, because of the 'Appointed WEEKS' OF THE HARVEST. The importance of this to me is that it makes the 3rd chapter of Ruth to be very likely on the Day of Pentecost, which in the context of chapter 2 of Ruth is at the end of the Barley and Wheat Harvests. Since the process called for cutting (Hebrew word for harvest) the barley first and then the wheat, the barley would be winnowed first and then the wheat. That explains why Boaz is seen winnowing the Barley in chapter 3. Evidently the main concern was to get the "harvest in" , that is cut, and then the winnowing could start. If this understanding is correct and I believe it is , then Pentecost , by the typology in Ruth chapter 3, is almost certainly the day of the Rapture.

If someone was going to be "super critical" then a case might could be made that the night that Ruth went down to the threshing floor could not be Pentecost since no work was to be done on Pentecost--Boaz was 'working' winnowing etc. However, if Boaz is a type of Christ then the typology would still fit because Jesus is seen "working" on the sabbath in the New Testament and said "My Father and I work 'hitherto' --meaning up to and including on the Sabbath.

What is your take or explanation of Boaz winnowing Barley that night? Later he seems to be celebrating the 'Feast ' by eating and drinking. Ruth was not to approach him until he had finished eating and drinking. We are to keep the Passover ,"eating and drinking" UNTIL HE COMES. Also, no one was to know that Ruth came to the threshingfloor that night. Let me know what you think.

Re the Passover. It is always ON the 14th "at evening"--. I believe the Hebrew for that phrase means "between the evenings". Therefore it was always on the afternnon of the day portion of the 14th of Nisan. After mid day, i.e. High Noon was considered the start of the 2 evening periods . The 1st ran from 1pm to 3pm. the 2nd ran from 3pm to 6pm. So "between the evenings would always be at EXACTLY 3 P.M. This was ALWAYS THE CASE. The Passover lamb was always slain on the 14th. Jesus would not have fulfilled the scriptures if He was slain on the 13th. God is exact. He even had darkness fall over the land from the noon hour until 3 P.M. on the day of the crucifixion. Why, because it was technically legal to kill the lambs in the afternoon after the noon hour. However, God the Father wanted the EXACT fulfillment of the Passover lamb re the timing. He wanted the Lambs and His Son slain at exacly 3 P.M. Therefore the darkness lifted at 3 P.M on the 14th.The people then hurried to kill the lambs. If the lambs of the Old Testament were killed at 3 P.M. which they were--then the Passover HAS TO BE ON THE 14TH. Otherwise the scripture would have said the 13th. The 13th is not the 14th. Jesus was taken down from the cross at dusk on the 14th as the "Sabbath" drew on of the night of the 15th--a High day Sabbath using New Testament terminology.

Yes. 7105 (Strong's) is qatsiyr, severed, the harvest as reaped, from 7112, qatsats, to chop off, cut asunder.

> > verse in Jeremiah about how God "Reserves unto us the 'APPOINTED WEEKS' for the Harvest (i.e. the 'cutting of the grain')".

Jer. 5:24 (KJV) says, "Neither say they in their heart, Let us now fear the LORD our God, that giveth rain, both the former and the latter, in his season (Tishri 1, First Advent; Nisan 1, Second Advent, Eze. 29:17,21; Hos. 6:3): he reserveth unto us the appointed weeks of the harvest." Dr. Tabor, translator for the Original Bible Project, told me it literally says, "He keeps for us Shavuot, appointed for the harvest."

[Jer 5:24] (RSV) They do not say in their hearts, `Let us fear the LORD our God, who gives the rain in its season, the autumn rain and the spring rain, and keeps for us the weeks appointed for the harvest.

[Jer 5:24] (Young): "And they have not said in their heart, `Let us fear, we pray you, Jehovah our God, who is giving rain, The sprinkling and the gathered, in its season, The appointed weeks of harvest He keepeth for us."

The words for these rains in both Hebrew and Greek mean (1) the autumn sprinkling rain and (2) the spring gathered rain. It is amazing to find that the time of the First Advent, the Rapture and the Second Advent are all three indicated here in one verse.

This is another time that the Lord will keep this feast. He came as the Spirit of Christ (Rom. 8:9) on Pentecost in 30 AD. A feast is an holy convocation (4744, miqra, a rehearsal, something called out, a public meeting, an assembly). The Lord will keep this appointment by calling us out to the "general assembly" (festal assembly, Thayer, Heb. 12:23). He will say, "Come up hither" (Rev. 4:1), and we will ascend up to heaven as Moses and Elijah will do when they hear "Come up hither" (Rev. 11:12). The harvest is the cutting off, as in harvesting us, but also as Luke 12:46 says plainly: "The lord of that servant (the foolish virgin) will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder (lit., cut him off), and will appoint him his portion (2300 days of the Tribulation, Dan. 8:13,14) with the unbelievers."

> > What is your take or explanation of Boaz winnowing Barley that night?

It doesn't sound like a feast day. Not only did Boaz winnow barley that night, Ruth carried the six measures of barley back to Naomi. She didn't go with Boaz right then, either. On the following day, "Boaz took Ruth, and she was his wife" (Ruth 4:13). Types may have some elements, but not always the whole story. We have to figure out when the Rapture will be from the clue, "So she kept fast by the maidens of Boaz to glean unto the end of barley harvest and of the wheat harvest" (Ruth 2:23).

Verse 8 says, "it came to pass at midnight, that the man was afraid." From my experience, my guess was that the Lord woke him up and that he was terrified. When the Lord woke me and said, "Be still and know that I am God," I was the most terrified of my entire life. My heart was beating like a little bird trying to get out of my chest. However, it quieted instantly when I heard those words. Sure enough, 2729, charad, means to shudder with terror.

> > Re the Passover. It is always ON the 14th "at evening"--. I believe the Hebrew for that phrase means "between the evenings". Therefore it was always on the afternnon of the day portion of the 14th of Nisan.

6153, ereb, means dusk, evening, night. Gesenius says, "only in the phrase (2 Hebrew words I can't reproduce) between the two evenings, Ex. 16:12; 30:8; used as marking the space of time during which the paschal lamb was slain...the Rabbinists considered the time when the sun began to descend to be called the first evening...and the second evening to be the real sunset."

Lev. 23:5 says, "In the fourteenth day of the first month at even (ereb, dusk) is the LORD'S passover." The whole 24 hours, 12 hours of night then 12 hours of day, is Nisan 14, the Passover. The actual pass over, when the firstborn of Egypt died, and the Israelites did not, could not have been in the day portion of Nisan 14, because the actual pass over took place at midnight. Nisan 14 only has one midnight. That midnight was 6 hours after the night began at 6 PM on Nisan 13. The hours of the night are 6 PM, 7 PM, 8 PM, 9 PM, 10 PM, 11 PM, midnight, 1 AM, 2 AM, 3 AM, 4 AM, 5 AM. At 6 AM it changes to day. The hours of the day run from 6 AM to 6 PM. No pass over took place during the daylight hours. It happened that first night.

Ex. 12 6-12 says, "keep it (the lamb) up until the fourteenth day of the same month (the 14th started at 6 PM on Nisan 13): and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening (ereb, dusk). And they shall take of the blood, and strike it on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses, wherein they shall eat it. And they shall eat the flesh in that night, (Nisan 14) roast with fire, and unleavened bread; and with bitter herbs they shall eat it. Eat not of it raw, nor sodden at all with water, but roast with fire; his head with his legs, and with the purtenance thereof. And ye shall let nothing of it remain until the morning (6 AM); and that which remaineth of it until the morning ye shall burn with fire. And thus shall ye eat it; with your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and ye shall eat it in haste: it is the LORD's passover. For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night (Nisan 14), and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt."

> > The Passover lamb was always slain on the 14th. Jesus would not have fulfilled the scriptures if He was slain on the 13th.

At the temple in 30 AD, there were so many lambs to be slain, the priests started at 3 PM on Nisan 13, so the lambs could be roasted and ready to be eaten between 6 PM and midnight on Nisan 14. Jesus died about 3 PM on Nisan 13 as the priests were killing the lambs.

John 12:1 says, "Jesus six days before the passover came to Bethany." The Passover was Friday, Nisan 14. Six days before that was Saturday, Nisan 8 (8 + 6 = 14). Verse 12f tells us that "On the next day (Sunday, Nisan 9)...(they) "Took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him." Verse 14 says, "thy King cometh, sitting on an ass's colt." It was Palm Sunday, when Jesus presented himself as king and the Pharisees turned him down. He went to the temple, looked around, and left.

The next day was Monday, Nisan 10. This is the day they chose the lambs that were to be sacrificed. It is also the day that Jesus cursed the fig tree and purified the temple.

The next day was Tuesday, Nisan 11, the day the fig tree was dried up, and the day Jesus gave the Olivet Discourse. At 6 PM, Wednesday, Nisan 12 began. At that point, "After two days was the feast of the passover" (Mark 14:1). Those 2 days were Wednesday, Nisan 12 and Thursday, Nisan 13. Both the 6 days and the 2 days end at 6 PM as Nisan 13 becomes Nisan 14, the Passover.

The Sanhedrin met every Thursday. Thursday, Nisan 13, "THE PREPARATION OF THE PASSOVER, and about the sixth hour (Roman time, 9 AM): and he saith unto the Jews, Behold your King: But they cried out, Away with him, away with him, crucify him...Then delivered he him therefore unto them to be crucified" (John 19:14-16). After Jesus died about 3 PM, John 19:31 tells us, "The Jews therefore, because IT WAS THE PREPARATION (Nisan 13, April 6, 30 AD), that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day,) [the Passover, Friday, Nisan 14] besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away." Luke 23:50-54 tells how Joseph "begged the body of Jesus...And THAT DAY WAS THE PREPARATION (Nisan 13), and the sabbath (Passover, Nisan 14) drew on." "It was "the first (prote, before, prior) day of unleavened bread, WHEN THEY KILLED THE PASSOVER" (Mark 14:12).

Friday, Nisan 14 was the Passover. Mark 14:2 says, "NOT ON THE FEAST DAY, lest there be an uproar of the people." "They...went not into the judgment hall...that they might eat the passover" (John 18:28). "Now the next day, that followed the DAY OF THE PREPARATION (Nisan 14), the chief priests and Pharisees came together unto Pilate, Saying, Sir, we remember that that deceiver said, while he was yet alive, After three days I will rise again" (Mt. 27:62,63). Those 3 days were Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. He arose on Sunday, the 1st day of the week, after Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

Saturday, Nisan 15 was the Feast of Unleavened Bread. Sunday, Nisan 16 was the Feast of Firstfruits.

There were 2 sabbaths together during which the women waited to buy more spices, Friday, Nisan 14, the Passover, and Saturday, Nisan 15, the Feast of Unleavened Bread, which was also the 7th day sabbath. Mt. 28:1 literally says, "In the end of the sabbaths, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene" (meaning after Passover and Unleavened Bread).

Sunday, Nisan 16 was "the third day since these things were done" (Lu. 24:21). Those 3 days were Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Jesus was "three days and three nights in the heart of the earth" (Mt. 12:40). These were Thursday (day), Friday (night then day), Saturday (night then day), and Sunday (night). Everything fits perfectly. Jesus told the thief on the cross that he would be with him in paradise that day. Luke 23:43 says, "Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise." It was Thursday (day) when they went to paradise.

In Nu. 9:11, the 2nd Passover is on the 14th, as the 1st Passover is on Nisan 14th.

The "Tractate Sanhedrin" in the Babylonian Talmud says, "ON THE EVE OF PASSOVER YESHU WAS HANGED" (Sanhedrin 43a GBT VII.pg. 181; SBT pg. 281).

Another Jewish writing was quoted in R.T. Herford's "Christianity in Talmud and Midrash," pp. 48, 62, 83, 348. It said, "ON THE EVE OF PESAH THEY HUNG JESHU [the Nazarene]...they found naught in his favour. And THEY HUNG HIM ON THE EVE OF PESAH."

Concerning the dates of the feast days, Josephus (a Pharisee priest) wrote: "In the month...Nisan, and is the beginning of our year, on the fourteenth day of the lunar month, when the sun is in Aries (for in this month it was that we were delivered from bondage under the Egyptians,) the law ordained that we should every year slay that sacrifice which I before told you we slew when we came out of Egypt, and which was called the Passover; and so do we celebrate this passover in companies, leaving nothing of what we sacrifice till the day following. The feast of unleavened bread succeeds that of the passover, and falls on the fifteenth day of the month, and continues seven days...But on the second day of unleavened bread, which is the sixteenth day of the month, they first partake of the fruits of the earth, for before that day they do not touch them...they offer the first-fruits of their barley...When a week of weeks has passed over after this sacrifice, (which weeks contain forty and nine days,) on the fiftieth day, which is Pentecost, but is called by the Hebrews Asartha, which signifies Pentecost, they bring to God a loaf, made with wheat flour..." (Ant. III. X. 5,6).

The 4 feasts, Passover, Unleavened Bread, Firstfruits and Pentecost seem to be one fixed 52-day block of time. The only thing that can differ from year to year is the day of the week they happen to fall on.

Ex. 12:18,19 says, "In the first month, on the fourteenth day (Passover) of the month at even (6 PM, when Nisan 15 begins), ye shall eat unleavened bread, until the one and twentieth day of the month at even" (till 6 PM, when Nisan 22 begins). This makes it sure that the Feast of Unleavened Bread was from 6 PM on Nisan 14 to 6 PM on Nisan 15.

Therefore, because the middle feast is fixed in time, the feasts before and after it are fixed too. Nisan 14 was from 6 PM on Nisan 13 to 6 PM on Nisan 14. Nisan 16 was from 6 PM, Nisan 15 to 6 PM on Nisan 16.

> > THE 10TH OF TISHRI. IN GIVING THE TIME PARAMETERS FOR THAT DAY, THE 10TH, IT SAYS IN VERSE 32 "...AND YOU SHALL AFLICT YOUR SOULS: IN THE NINTH DAY AT EVEN, FROM EVEN UNTIL EVEN, SHALL YOU CELEBRATE YOUR SABBATH." MARILYN HERE IS PROOF IF YOU ARE WILLING TO SEE IT.THE PHRASE "IN THE NINTH DAY AT EVEN" MEANS AFTER THE NIGHT PORTION OF THE 9TH DAY HAS ALREADY PASSED AND IT IS THE DAY PORTION AS IT APPROACHES THE NIGHT OF THE 10TH. THAT IS UNDISPUTABLE. DO YOU SEE THAT ??

> > LIKEWISE THE EXACT SAME PHRASE IN VERS 5 "IN THE FOURTEENTH DAY AT EVEN.." MEANS THE SAME AS FOR THE PHRASE FOR ATONEMENT. IT MEANS THE NIGHT PORTION OF THE 14TH HAS ALREADY PASSED AND THE DAY PORTION OF THE 14TH IS BEING TALKED ABOUT, IN THE LATE AFTERNOON AS IT APPROACHES THE NIGHT OF THE 15TH, JEWISH TIME.

> > YOU CANNOT INTERPRET THE SAME PHRASE IN VS. 5 AND IN VS.32 DIFFERENTLY

I don't. Every day is kept the same way.
Tishri 10 is kept from 6 PM on the 9th to 6 PM on the 10th.
Nisan 14 is kept from 6 PM on the 13th to 6 PM on the 14th.

> > I BELIEVE THAT PENTECOST IS ON SUNDAY JUNE 3. I BELIEVE THAT THE DAY JESUS WAS PRESENTED TO THE FATHER AFTER THE RESURRECTION WAS ON SUNDAY , WHICH IS THE LORD'S DAY. I BELIEVE THAT THE FEAST OF FIRSTFRUITS TO COMMEMORATE THAT EVENT WILL ALWAYS BE ON A SUNDAY. IF A DATE CERTAIN DATE IN SIVAN, 6 OR 7, WAS TO BE THE DATE THEM THERE WOULD BE NO NEED OF COUNTING WOULD THERE?

I think that Sivan 6, 5761 (Monday, May 28, 2001) is most likely, but we are not far apart. That is close enough to keep us ready and watching. The reason for counting instead of having the date given is in keeping with making it obscure enough that the unbeliever can't figure it out. None of the wicked will understand, but the wise shall understand (Dan. 12:10). Jesus said that he had foretold all things (Mark 13:23), but all things are not stated so clearly that the whole world can see them. We have to search as for silver. Prov. 2:3-5 says, "Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding. If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures; Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God." When we get to Heaven, we will probably find out that there were a lot more hidden treasures than we found. I don't think one person can dig out everything in one lifetime. Only God could pack so much information in such a small book.

If June 3 was the beginning of the Tribulation, the 2300 days of Dan. 8:13,14 would not fit from the Feast of Weeks/Pentecost in 2001 to the Feast of Trumpets in 2007. Counting backward the 2300 days from Tishri 1, 5768 (Sept. 13, 2007) brings us to Sivan 6, 5761 (May 28, 2001). Counting back 7 bad years and 7 good years from Sept. 13, 2007 brings us to Sept. 13, 1993, when the Oslo Accords were signed. That seems too good to be accidental. Agape

If we just consider one thing, that Heaven is a planet in our solar system, we know immediately that it is one of eight possibilities: Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune or Pluto for Earth is excluded. Then if we take into consideration that it was visible before the invention of telescopes, we can eliminate Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. Do you need any more clues?

yes!! call me stupid but this paragraph has lost me ...Where is the 3rd heaven?...

My reply

We are the 3rd planet from the Sun. I think Heaven is the 3rd planet from us--Mars, Jupiter, Saturn. II Cor. 12:2,4 says, "I knew a man (Paul himself, read through v. 7) in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven....How that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter."

Josephus, a Pharisee priest, indicated that the candlestick in the temple represented Sun, Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn. The semi-circular arms of the candlestick do suggest the orbits of the planets. In Ant. III. VI. 7, he said that the candlestick "spread itself into as many branches as there are planets, including the sun among them." That is why the western light was always to be kept lit. It represented the Sun. Earth was in the middle. In Wars. V. V. 5, Josephus said, "Now the seven lamps signified the seven planets (visible to the naked eye); for so many there were springing out of the candlestick. Now, the twelve loaves that were upon the table signified the circle of the zodiac and the year."

We are supposed to leave Satan's Astrology alone, but God's Astronomy is ok. The zodiac originally told the story of Christ triumphing over Satan. It was God's picture book in the stars to depict the gospel of Christ before the written scriptures were produced. No wonder Satan did everything he could to obscure the story told in the stars.

It is interesting to find that the Sun was in Virgo, the virgin, when Jesus was born of a virgin on Tishri 1, the Feast of Trumpets. The Sun was in Aries, the Ram, at the time of the Crucifixion, when Christ was our passover, sacrificed for us. The Sun will also be in Aries at the time of the Second Advent too. The Sun will be in Gemini (May 21 to June 21) at Pentecost, and Gemini represents the Bride and Bridegroom seated on the ecliptic in heavenly places (i.e., at the Rapture). Eph. 2:6 says, "hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus." There is another clue that Heaven travels the ecliptic, and is therefore a planet. Agape

Note: "The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge. There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard. Their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world" (Psalm 19:1-4).

I visit you site at least every other day. Thankyou for sharing you many hours of study. I found a website:
http://hometown.aol.com/TMont714/bblovrvw/TOC.html
I would love for you to look at something I found so interesting on the Jewish Calendar Years 2000-2007. When you get to the web site, scroll down close to the bottom of the page and find the section "Table of Tables, Illustrations & Figures" then scroll down and click onto CALENDAR OF JEWISH HOLY DAYS. After getting to this page, scroll down to bottom of that page and see the Jewish calendar 2000-2007. Look at the dates shown for Passover, Shavuot, and Rosh HaShanah for the years 2001, 2004, and 2007. Notice in the year 2001 each of those three dates on the above mentioned Holy days end in the number 8. (888) In the year 2004 the dates on the same Holy Days end in the number 6. (666) In the year 2007 the dates of the same three Holy Days end in 3. (333) I did a little study on numbers to see what they might represent. The number 8, I found, is usually connected to Temple worship. (Perhaps the rebuilding of the 3rd temple.) The number 6 represents man..he has fallen short of perfection..7 (Perhaps these 3 sixes represent the antichrist in mid-trib) The number 3, I found, represents divine perfection. (Perhaps the 3 threes in the year 2007 represent the end...Jesus coming back ...divine perfection

I would love to hear what you think. Thankyou, Deanna P.S. the dates for these three Holy days on the other calendar years do not end in the same numbers.

My reply

Here are my thoughts as I consider these 3 years.

2001 may be the year of the Rapture, and 8 means new order. That fits, whether in Heaven or Earth. The Bride would be in Heaven, the Tribulation beginning on Earth. 8 also fits 2008, the year I think will be the year of the Second Advent. It is 5768 for the Jews. 2004 may be the year the False Prophet comes to full power, and 666 is the mark of the beast. 2007 may be the year of the beginning of Christ's kingdom, the millennial Day of the Lord, and 3 stands for the Trinity, the Godhead.

These hit pretty good. Thanks for sharing your find with me. Agape

From: CAPS. Re: THE RAPTURE --WHEN ? PART 9 JEREMIAH 5:24
I have been doing some more studying of Jeremiah 5:24 after you again commented on it. One of the translations is really significant , which I will give below. You are correct in saying that the phrase "the appointed weeks of the harvest " apply to Pentecost or , as some call it 'shavaut.'

Here is why. The Hebrew word for "weeks" is translated only to mean a "seven". THERE ARE ONLY 7 WEEKS IN THE HARVEST PERIOD from Firstfruits to Pentecost. There is no other period that has this 7 weeks period. The translation I will give below correctly picked this up and used the terminology of the harvest of the GRAIN for their translation.

This, of course confirms that the period of the 7 weeks from Firstfruits to Pentecost is indeed the period of the Grain Harvest since this verse confirms that this period is "reserved " by God Himself for that exact reason! That is, this verse confirms that this 7 week period was exclusively for the Grain Harvest and not some interim period that nothing really went on until the grain harvest started...

Here is the Bible in Basic English version of Jer. 5:24 : "And they do not say in their hearts, Now let us give worship to our God, who gives the rain, the winter and the spring rain, at the right time; who keeps for us the ordered weeks of the grain-cutting."

NOtice that this version translates the word for 'harvest' as 'grain-cutting.' That is exactly correct. This is when the barley and wheat was 'cut'. The Hebrew word for 'harvest' means to 'cut.' It was winnowed later. Also , notice this translations use of the phrase "ordered weeks "...of the grain-cutting. This translation uses 'ordered weeks' instead of 'appointed weeks'. Either way , it is clear that these 7 weeks in question are very special. The scripture did NOT say the appointed "months" for the entire harvest, but, very significantly, the "appointed WEEKS" FOR THE HARVEST .THIS CAN ONLY MEAN THAT THERE WAS DEFINITELY A GRAIN HARVEST GOING ON DURING THESE 7 WEEKS --THE CUTTING OF THE BARLEY AND THE WHEAT GRAIN !!!

Here is what the word for "weeks" (used in Jer. 5:24) means:
Home > Lexicons > Hebrew > Shabuwa`
The KJV Old Testament Hebrew Lexicon

Strong's Number: 07620 Browse Lexicon Original Word Word Origin [wbX properly, pass part of (07650) as a denom. of (07651) Transliterated Word TDNT Entry Shabuwa` TWOT - 2318d Phonetic Spelling Parts of Speech shaw-boo'-ah Noun Masculine Definition seven, period of seven (days or years), heptad, week period of seven days, a week Feast of Weeks heptad, seven (of years) King James Word Usage - Total: 20 week 19, seven 1

If for any reason this chart does not show up, the word is Strong's # 07620 and is used 20 times in the Old test. and is translated 'week' nineteen of those times.

This confirms that the period in question is a 7 week period which can only be the interval from Firstfruits to Pentecost---that of the 'grain-cutting.'

The verse in Deut. 16:13 which says that: Thou shalt observe the feast of tabernacles seven days, after that thou hast gathered in thy corn and thy wine:

This verse is only talking about the conclusion of the entire harvest season of all the crops starting with the grain and ending with the wine in the Fall. It is a summary verse. In NO way should this be construed to mean the Barley and Wheat were cut all through the summer. Almost every reputable Bible Dictionary confirms that the barley and and wheat were cut in the 7 week period mentioned above.

Here is the JFB commentary on this verse:
13-17. Thou shalt observe the feast of tabernacles seven (days) for the appointment of this feast is at the conclusion of the WHOLE harvest.

For the Scripture to mention that God "reserves " or "appoints" this period (the 7 weeks leading to Pentecost) must mean it is a very special one. It undoubtedly is since it is the time when the Firstfruits of His Harvest is reaped and presented to Him , as pictured by the 2 loaves at Pentecost.

My reply

> > You are correct in saying that the phrase "the appointed weeks of the harvest " apply to Pentecost or, as some call it 'shavaut.'

I really think Jer. 5:24 is significant too. The former rain represents the First Advent on Tishri 1. the latter rain represents the Second Advent on Nisan 1. Those apply to Christ's season, the rainy season. Therefore "he reserveth unto us the appointed weeks (shabua, sevens, Feast of Weeks) of the harvest" would probably not apply to the First and Second Advent. They would be very likely to give us a clue to the timing of the Rapture on Pentecost. Dr. Tabor doesn't think there will be a Rapture, but in spite of that, he thought the literal meaning of this verse was something he should tell me. He said, "He keeps for us Shavuot, appointed for the harvest."

I agree, no other feast has weeks (plural) associated with it. Unleavened Bread and Tabernacles both have one week associated with them, not weeks. Look at Jer. 8:20 too. It says, "The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved." That would be terrible. The harvest could refer to the Pre-Trib Rapture on the Feast of Weeks/Pentecost. The summer could apply to the Pre-Wrath Rapture on the Feast of Trumpets. If summer is ended and someone is not saved, they probably have missed both Raptures.

Isa. 57:1 says, "The righteous perisheth (abad, go away, vanish), and no man layeth it to heart: and merciful men are taken away (acaph, withdrawn, removed), none considering that the righteous is taken away (acaph) from the evil to come" (i.e., the Tribulation).

> > THERE ARE ONLY 7 WEEKS IN THE HARVEST PERIOD from Firstfruits to Pentecost.

That is true of the grain harvest, and we are wheat. The festival of ingathering, Tabernacles, is after lots of kinds of fruit is harvested after the grain harvest is completed. The vintage is over.

Micah 7:1 says, "Woe is me! for I am as (symbolic language) when they have gathered the summer fruits, as the grapegleanings of the vintage (i.e., he is playing the part of one left behind at the 1st Rapture): there is no cluster to eat: my soul desired the firstripe fruit." The firstripe fruit is the firstripe grapes at Pentecost. Song of Sol. 2:15 says, "our vines have tender grapes. It may also be the time of the firstripe figs. Hos. 9:10 says, "I found Israel like grapes in the wilderness; I saw your fathers as the firstripe in the fig tree at her first time: but they went to Baalpeor, and separated themselves unto that shame."

> > this version translates the word for 'harvest' as 'grain-cutting.' That is exactly correct. This is when the barley and wheat was 'cut'. The Hebrew word for 'harvest' means to 'cut.'

I agree.

> > The scripture did NOT say the appointed "months" for the entire harvest, but, very significantly, the "appointed WEEKS" FOR THE HARVEST .THIS CAN ONLY MEAN THAT THERE WAS DEFINITELY A GRAIN HARVEST GOING ON DURING THESE 7 WEEKS

Yes. That is very significant. It looks like the barley and wheat are harvested during these 7 weeks. Christ starts it off on Firstfruits, and the Feast of Weeks finishes it. Then the Tribulation saints are harvested on the Feast of Trumpets. Agape
