In Rev. 8:5, "the angel took the censer, and filled it with fire of the altar, and cast it into the earth: and there were voices, and thunderings, and lightnings, and an earthquake. And the seven angels which had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound." This represents the asteroid impacting Earth. Then the 7 trumpets tell us more details of this. All happen at once, but the effects of each are more prolonged. It takes longer to tell it than for it to start to happen.
When the 1st trumpet judgment strikes, a hail of fiery stones set fires. This is probably a result of the binary asteroid breaking apart at the Roche Limit, about 11,000 miles out. A third part of the trees and all green grass is burned. These fires continue on past the impact point.
As the 2nd trumpet judgment strikes, a piece of the asteroid as big as a great mountain impacts the Mediterranean Sea at noon (Zeph. 2:4,5). The effects of this are prolonged past the moment of impact. Right away, a third part of the creatures in the sea died. By the time of the 2nd vial, all the creatures in the sea had died (Rev. 16:3).
When the 3rd trumpet judgment strikes, a burning "aster" (star, asteroid) falls from Heaven. As the 4th trumpet sounds, a third of the Sun, Moon and Stars is obscured by dark smoke.
Re: the 5th trumpet, Rev. 9:1 (Young) says, "And the fifth messenger did sound, and I saw a star (aster) out of the heaven HAVING FALLEN (i.e., the 'aster' of the 3rd trumpet) to the earth, and there was given to it the key of the pit of the abyss." This "aster" broke through Earth's crust, releasing hot magma and making possible the escape of the angels that were in prison. Jude 6 says, "the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of THE GREAT DAY." This great day is one literal day, the Day of God's Wrath, the 1st day of the millennial Day of the Lord. The effects of this impact blast are lasting. The Lake of Fire exists from this point on. Unbelievers are cast into it at the end of the Millennium (Rev. 20:15). The demons that have been released are only allowed to torment men 5 months.
When the 6th trumpet sounds, "the four angels who had been kept in readiness for that hour, day, month, and year, were set at liberty, so that they might kill a third part of mankind" (Rev. 9:15, Weymouth). I think this is noon on Tishri 1, 5768 (Sept. 13, 2007). Those killed are unbelievers. The believers are caught up just before the asteroids hit.
When the 7th trumpet sounds, it is the same day that the 1st trumpet sounds. It is the day that Christ is crowned King of kings and Lord of lords in Heaven and given dominion over Earth. Rev. 11:15 says, "the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and HE SHALL REIGN for ever and ever." Verse 18 says, "thy wrath is come."
Rev. 10:7 told us that "in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets."For the LORD shall rise up as in mount Perazim, he shall be wroth as in the valley of Gibeon, that he may do his work, his strange work; and bring to pass his act, his strange act" (Isa. 28:21). On this day, the Lord "will surely violently TURN AND TOSS THEE LIKE A BALL into a large country (Iraq): there shalt thou die, and there the chariots of thy glory shall be the shame of thy lord's house. And I will drive thee from thy station, and from thy state shall he pull thee down" (Isa. 22:18,19).
I think this will be Y'shua's Long Day, because the Earth will be turned upside down. Isa. 24:1 says, "the LORD maketh the earth empty, and maketh it waste, and turneth it upside down, and scattereth abroad the inhabitants thereof."
The type was Joshua's Long Day. The Hebrew name Joshua is Jesus in the Greek. Joshua 10:11-13 says, "it came to pass, as they fled from before Israel, and were in the going down to Bethhoron, that the LORD CAST DOWN GREAT STONES FROM HEAVEN upon them unto Azekah, and they died: they were more which died with hailstones than they whom the children of Israel slew with the sword. Then spake Joshua to the LORD in the day when the LORD delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon. And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day."
I think all trumpet judgments hit on one day. Don't you? Agape
Some time between the first 2 verses in Genesis, I think a piece of Rahab hit Earth, because it became a desolate waste. Whatever life was on Earth was destroyed. I think an asteroid caused the mass extinction of the dinosaurs, but it doesn't have to be the same one that put the blackness around Earth like a swaddling band just before Adam was put on Earth. Scientists have decided that an asteroid impact caused 2 mass extinctions. I don't doubt that. If it weren't for the grace of God, the Earth would probably get hit by more asteroids than it does, and in more thickly inhabited places than it does. We orbit in a swarm of space rocks.
Chances are good that the Pacific Basin was dug by an asteroid just before Adam was put on Earth. Gen. 1:9 (NAB) says, "'Let the water under the sky be gathered into a SINGLE BASIN, so that the dry land may appear.' And so it happened: the water under the sky was gathered into ITS BASIN, and the dry land appeared."
Job 38:8-10 says, "who shut up the sea with doors, when it brake forth, as if it had issued out of the womb? When I made the cloud the garment thereof, and thick darkness a swaddlingband for it, And brake up for it my decreed PLACE." Because of the thick darkness, God said, "Let there be light" when he began to refresh the Earth for Adam. Agape
Please Excuse My Miscalculations.
Over the past decade or more, in my lectures and particularly in the November 1996 RESEARCHER, I have indicated that we might expect...prophetic events to be wrapped-up before and during Israel's Jubilee year. Since the rebirth of Israel took shape during the years of 1947, 1948 and 1949, I projected that the climactic events should be expected a Jubilee or 50 years later. The things simply did not happen as quickly as I had anticipated. As the old adage goes, "a watched pot never boils." All the players were on the field, the spectators were all in the stadium, but the whistle never blew for the kick-off. Then Something Did Happen!
As the Jewish New Year 5761 rolled around, those things we expected to happen began to fall into place. Why the almost three year delay? My daughter Sarah and I were discussing these expectations when she reminded me that this was the second Shmitah (Sabbatical Year) that they have lived in Israel on the settlement of Ma'aleh Levonah. "Yeah, Dad, you know that the Rabbis say that next year 5762 is the Jubilee year because 5761 is the seventh Shmitah since the establishment of Israel in 1948 or 5708."
Mirror, mirror on the wall, who's the dumbest of them all? Why did I calculate 1998-1999 as Israel's Jubilee year, when it was only the 50th anniversary year of the formation of the state? It was not the 50th Jubilee year? The Rabbis calculate the first Shmitah in Israel's Third Commonwealth as beginning in 1951, three years after their Independence. Hence, counting seven Shmitahs or 49 years brings us to the year 5761 on the Jewish Lunar Calendar or October 1st, 2000 CE on the western Gregorian Calendar. This is the beginning of the Seventh Shmitah year or the Seventh Sabbatical year of this Third Commonwealth of Israel....
The Exodus happened on the 14th day of the first month in the Jewish Year 2448. The Rabbis calculate that Israel entered their first Commonwealth at the end of the 40 years wandering on the tenth day of the first month in the Jewish year 2489. The 14 years they were at Gilgal brings the date to 2503 before they occupied their inheritance. The Rabbis calculate it as the year 2502 because each of the families of the tribes had actually moved to their inheritances two full weeks following Yom Kippur of the year 2502, so they could broadcast (plant) seed for the coming year of 2503. This is also one reason why they observe Rosh HaShanah, or the beginning of the Jewish New Year, at the Autumn Equinox [the 7th month, seed planting time] of Tishri rather than in the Spring equinox [the 1st month, spring harvest time] of Nissan. Thus, the reckoning of the seventh Shmitah in the century falls on the 1st and 51st years of each century making the Jubilee occur on the subsequent 2nd and 52nd years accordingly.
However, I still have an unresolved question regarding this calculation. If the 1st year of the counting of the Shmitah Year began the 1st year following the Jubilee Year, then it seems that the Jubilee would ascend by one calendar year each Jubilee or 50 years....the Rabbis still calculate the Jubilee to always occur on the 2nd and 52nd years of each century...
So, the Prophecies Were Seemingly Dragging their Heels These Past Three Years Calculating from 1947-1948 and 1949 from the rebirth of Israel, the Jubilee related things should have happened in 1997-1998 and 1999 but did not occur. When we revised our computation so the seventh Shmitah occurs in 5761 or 2000-2001, the Jubilee occurs in the year 5762 or 2001-2002. Now, things that we suspected would occur three years ago, we see unfolding at the beginning in October 2000.
Which Calendar, the Lunar or the Solar?
The Calendar used by the Jewish World since about 175 BCE is a Lunar/Solar system that is regulated with the Solar Year by adding an extra month 7 times each 19 years. There is no difference between the two systems in the counting of the years. The difference, however, is that according to the Jubilee System, Rosh HaShanah (the head of the year) is reckoned on the first day of the first month in the Spring equinox at sundown March 21.
The other accepted Lunar/Solar calendar holds that Rosh HaShanah occurs at sunset on the first day of the seventh month of the New Moon, on or near the Autumn Equinox on September 23. The latter must also be adjusted during certain years by adding extra months. According to the Jubilee calendar, used by the Qumran community, Rosh HaShanah 5761 will not occur until sunset, March 22, 2001. According to the calculations on the Jubilee calendar, we are still in 5760 until March 22, 2001. No one would questionthat the events we expected to unfold over the past three years are indeed happening now. This is why I always say: "G-d's time is not always our time, so again, let's let time be the interpreter!"...
The book of Daniel in Chapter 7, verse 4 speaks of four Beasts, specifically, the Lion (England) that had Eagle's wings (USA), the Bear (USSR) and the Leopard (Germany). The prophet further expounds on them in Daniel 7:12, "As for the rest of the beasts - their dominion was taken away, yet their lives were prolonged until a season and a time."...
Meanwhile, "The Days of Man are the measure of the Mikvah." A mikvah is 5760 eggs (years) of time. That measure will be full on sunset on March 21, 2001.
At first glimpse, this sounds great, but some of the figures don't seem exactly right. I figured the Exodus was in AH 2513, Jewish 2231, BC 1530. The author says Jewish 2448. That's 217 years difference. I could understand a few years difference, but 217? Where they could come from, I don't know. However, the author could be wrong on some points and still be right on others. Let's see what we can glean from it. We need to consider that the countdown might start on a Sabbatic Year.
Other things to keep in mind. At the Knesset's first official meeting, they voted to make Jerusalem the capitol of Israel. That was Jan. 23, 1950. Exactly 49 years later, on Jan. 23, 1999, we had the huge Gamma Ray Burster. It was the largest ever seen. Also, it is interesting that the UN opened its headquarters in New York in 1951.
> > the Rabbis say that next year 5762 is the Jubilee year because 5761 is the seventh Shmitah since the establishment of Israel in 1948 or 5708."
It is true that 5761 is a Sabbatic Year (5761 divided by 7 = 823, with no remainder). 5761 - 49 years = 5712 (our 1951/52), also a Sabbatic Year.

Last Rosh haShannah, Tishri 1, was Sept. 30, 2000 on the Talmudic Jewish Calendar.
> >The Exodus happened on the 14th day of the first month in the Jewish Year 2448.
I think it was the Nisan 14, 2231.

They are using 50 years for a Jubilee Cycle. I think it was 49, with the 50th year also being the 1st year of the new cycle. Moses was told to make Abib/Nisan the beginning of months. The Sabbatic Year was announced on Tishri 10, before it actually started the following Nisan 1.
> > However, I still have an unresolved question regarding this calculation. If the 1st year of the counting of the Shmitah Year began the 1st year following the Jubilee Year, then it seems that the Jubilee would ascend by one calendar year each Jubilee or 50 years.
As I said, I think the Jubilee Cycle is a 49-year cycle. The 50th year is also the 1st of the new cycle. Thus, the Jubilee Cycle stayed aligned with the Sabbatic Year cycle. That is what bothers me when I hear Charles Capps say that man's days are 120 years (Gen. 6:3) and then multiply it by 50 Jubilees to get 6000 years. I'm just not convinced that the Jubilee Cycle is a 50-year cycle.

That would be nice, but Mar. 22, 2001 is in 5761 either way. Nisan 1, 5761 is Mar. 25, 2001 on the Jewish Talmudic Calendar.
> > When we revised our computation so the seventh Shmitah occurs in 5761 or 2000-2001, the Jubilee occurs in the year 5762 or 2001-2002.
That is using Tishri 1 as the head of the year. If we figure it using the following Nisan 1 as the 1st month, 5761 would be in 2001/2002. This next Pentecost would still be in 5761 (2001), a Sabbatic Year. If the Rapture happens on next Pentecost, we could celebrate Jubilee in Heaven. That would be nice.
> > The book of Daniel in Chapter 7, verse 4 speaks of four Beasts, specifically, the Lion (England) that had Eagle's wings (USA), the Bear (USSR) and the Leopard (Germany).
I think the 4 beasts stand for Babylon, Media-Persia, Greece and Rome.

We are getting close just about any way you figure it. It's an exciting time to live in. Agape
Also refernce is made two raptures. I assume the first rapture is for believers now and the second rapture is for believers that come durint the tribulation. I was confused by a statement in someones email - that some believers will be left behind and only get serious during the tribulation please explain. Thanks
Knowing that our time is short should give us reason to do what we can to help others. Christians need to confess known sins so the Lord can cleanse them of all unrighteousness (I John 1:9). Unbelievers need to accept Christ as their own personal Saviour. We do not have much time to earn rewards, either. We need to get our priorities straight.
> > I was confused by a statement in someones email - that some believers will be left behind and only get serious during the tribulation
It looks like the foolish virgins (Mt. 25:1f) and the lukewarm Laodiceans Rev. 3:14f) will be left behind at the Pre-Trib Rapture. Luke 12:46 says, "The lord of that servant (the unwise one) will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the UNBELIEVERS." Mt. 24:51 adds, "And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites (pretenders): there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth." Rev. 3:16 says, "So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue (emesai, vomit) thee out of my mouth" (i.e., out of the Body of Christ, temorarily).
We must be worthy to be caught up in the Bride group. Luke 21:36 says, "Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be ACCOUNTED WORTHY TO ESCAPE all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man." Rev. 3:10 says, "Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from (ek, out of) the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth." If we are accounted worthy now, we won't have to be tried in the Tribulation.
Jesus told a parable of the wedding feast in Mt. 22:1-14. I went to the Bible Browser and looked up a few of these verses in several versions to see how different translators understood this feast. These are especially interesting. In verse 9, the ASV calls it "the marriage feast." The BBE calls it "the bride-feast."
Mt. 22:9 (ASV): "Go ye therefore unto the partings of the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage feast." The BBE: "Go then to the cross-roads, and get all those whom you see to come to the bride-feast."
Verse 10 (Darby) says, "And those bondmen went out into the highways, and brought together all as many as they found, both evil and good; and the wedding feast was furnished with guests." Verses 11 and 12 (Young) says, "and he saith to him, Comrade, how didst thou come in hither, not having clothing of the marriage-feast? and he was speechless. Then said the king to the ministrants, Having bound his feet and hands, take him up and cast forth to the outer darkness (outside the door darkness), there shall be the weeping and the gnashing of the teeth"
The Laodiceans were advised to get "white raiment." The man that was cast out was cast out of Heaven's door (Rev. 4:1) because he did not have on the white wedding garment. Notice that "there shall be the weeping and the gnashing of the teeth" The bride wears white. Other believers not "accounted worthy" will have to be tried during the Tribulation, the trial that shall come upon the whole world.
The believers that didn't learn their lesson the easy way and got left behind the 1st time will learn their lesson the hard way. When they are caught up later with the Tribulation saints, they will have "washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb" (Rev. 7:14). Agape
From Native American traditions we learn that in this phase it represents the Savior when he was at the heights of his ministry. In March it will plunge into the darkness below the horizon even as the Savior conquered the forces of death in the underworld. Then in an extremely rare event, Venus will resurrect precisely on Easter (April 15, 2001) as the Bright Morning Star.
That rare coincidence, which won't happen again for fifteen hundred years, can be witnessed around the world just before dawn on Easter Sunday wherever the eastern horizon is low and clear. This extraordinary sight was also witnessed on that Easter Sunday morning long ago when death was conquered by the Savior of all mankind.
April 15, 2001 is Nisan 22 on the Jewish Talmudic Calendar. I don't think that is the date of the Resurrection.
Lev. 23:5,6 says, "In the fourteenth day of the first month at even is the LORD's passover. And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of unleavened bread unto the LORD: seven days ye must eat unleavened bread."
Ex. 12:15-18 says, "Seven days shall ye eat unleavened bread; even the first day (Nisan 15) ye shall put away leaven out of your houses: for whosoever eateth leavened bread from the first day until the seventh day, that soul shall be cut off from Israel. And in the first day there shall be an holy convocation, and in the seventh day there shall be an holy convocation...In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month at even, ye shall eat unleavened bread, until the one and twentieth day of the month at even."
Let's list these 7 days, keeping in mind that Jewish days begin and end with even (6 PM) instead of midnight. From even to even is one 24-hour day.
(1) Nisan 15, 24 hrs, from the beginning even, 12 hours of night plus 12 hours of day, Feast of Unleavened Bread
(2) Nisan 16, 24 hrs, 12 hours of night plus 12 hours of day, Feast of Firstfruits
(3) Nisan 17, 24 hrs, 12 hours of night plus 12 hours of day
(4) Nisan 18, 24 hrs, 12 hours of night plus 12 hours of day
(5) Nisan 19, 24 hrs, 12 hours of night plus 12 hours of day
(6) Nisan 20, 24 hrs, 12 hours of night plus 12 hours of day
(7) Nisan 21, 24 hrs, 12 hours of night plus 12 hours of day, to the ending even.
In 2001, April 15 is Nisan 22, not the day of a holy convocation, according to the Bible. The reason April 15 is Easter this year is just because it is the first Sunday following the Feast of Unleavened Bread. I don't figure the Feast of Firstfruits that way. I think it is just as Josephus, a Pharisee priest of the 1st century, said, "on THE SECOND DAY OF UNLEAVENED BREAD, WHICH IS THE SIXTEENTH DAY OF THE MONTH, they first partake of the fruits of the earth, for before that day they do not touch them...they offer the first-fruits of their barley" (Ant. III. X. 5).
Nisan 16 this year is Mon. April 9. Maybe we can see Venus that day. Pratt said, "Venus will disappear toward the end of March. The planet then resurrects, becoming visible to the trained eye again probably about 5-10 April, depending on observing conditions. But as we will now see, there is a calendar date indicated for the official resurrection date of Venus, on which it is bright enough for all to see. That date this year coincides with Easter Sunday, 15 April 2001."
I don't know if Venus' rising on April 15th is a sign or not. Agape
Ifound the movie to be just good si-fi fantasy. I don't know what movie the other person saw, but there was nothing in this movie about demons or unclean spirits. Absolutely Nothing! There were bad guys and good guys, but nothing a Christian should be afraid to watch if all they want is a good exciting movie.
