Scientists have been trying to determine what caused the event, which was far more violent than the upheavals that contributed to the demise of the dinosaurs 65 million years ago. The earlier occurrence left Earth marred by tens of thousands of impact craters and scarred Mercury, Venus, the moon and Mars with thousands of craters....
A new analysis of chemical traces left on samples of cratered moon rock suggests that the objects were stony and more like asteroids, not carbon-rich objects like comets, said Barbara Cohen, a planetary scientist at the University of Hawaii. It's possible, she said, that a large asteroid broke up in the asteroid belt and showered the inner solar system with debris.

...This same bombardment, according to Kring and Cohen, affected the entire inner solar system, producing thousands of impact craters on Mercury, Venus, the Moon and Mars. Most of the craters in the southern hemisphere of Mars were produced during this event.
On Earth, at least 22,000 impact craters with diameters greater than 20 kilometers [12 miles] were produced, including about 40 impact basins with diameters of about 1,000 kilometers [600 miles] in diameter. Several impact craters of about 5,000 kilometers [3,000 miles] were created, as well, each one exceeding the dimensions of Australia, Europe, Antarctica or South America. The thousands of impacts occurred in a very short period of time, potentially producing globally significant environmental change at an average rate of once per 100 years.
Also, the event is recorded in the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter, as witnessed by the meteoritic fragments that have survived to fall to Earth today...

2Pe 3:16 says, "As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction." There are also some that count themselves learned that outsmart themselves. It could be funny if it weren't so deadly serious. The life of their soul is at stake.
I did a search in e-sword to find Eze 18:4's, "the soul that sinneth, it shall die." It also found Pro 8:36, which says, "But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: ALL THEY THAT HATE ME LOVE DEATH."
I looked up Prov. 8 in Artscroll's Stone Edition of the Tanach (Old Testament). Under the symbol of wisdom, we find some interesting things that seem to fit no other but the Son of God. Verses 22-36 say, "HASHEM (YHVH) made ME as the beginning of his way, before His deeds of yore. I HAVE REIGNED FOR ALL TIME: from the beginning, from before [there was] the earth.When there were no depths, I was formed; when there were no pools rich with water, before the mountains were settled, before the hills, I was formed; when He had not yet made the earth and its environs or the first dust of the inhabited world. When He prepared the heaven, I was there; when He etched out the globe upon the face of the depths; when He strengthened the heavens above; when he fortified the wellsprings of the depths; when He set for the sea its limit and the waters would not transgress His word; WHEN HE FORGED THE FOUNDATIONS OF THE EARTH; I WAS THEN HIS NURSLING, I was then His delight every day, playing before Him at all times, playing in the inhabited areas of His earth, my delights are with the sons of man. Hebrews 1:1-10 in the Complete Jewish Bible says, "In days gone by, God spoke in many and varied ways to the Fathers through the prophets. But now, in the acharit-hayamim (last days), he has spoken to us through (en, IN) HIS SON , to whom he has given ownership of everything and through whom he created the universe. THIS SON IS the radiance of the Sh'khinah, THE VERY EXPRESSION OF GOD'S ESSENCE, upholding all that exists by his powerful word; and after he had, through himself, made purification for sins, he sat down at the RIGHT HAND of Hag'dulah Bam'romim (the Majesty on high). So he has become much better than angels, and the name God has given him is superior to theirs. For to which of the angels did God ever say,

Also, God never said of any angel,
"I WILL BE HIS FATHER AND HE WILL BE MY SON."
And again, when God brings his Firstborn into the world, he says,
"Let all God's angels worship him."
Indeed, when speaking of angels, he says,
"...who makes his angels winds and his servants fiery flames";
but to the Son, he says,
"YOUR THRONE, O GOD, WILL LAST FOREVER AND EVER; YOU RULE YOUR KINGDOM WITH A SCEPTER OF EQUITY; you have loved righteousness and hated wickedness. Therefore, O GOD, your God has anointed you with the oil of joy in preference to your companions"."
Psa. 2:7 (Stone Ed.) ties in with God's message to the Hebrews. It says, "HASHEM (YHVH) said to me, "YOU ARE MY SON, I HAVE BEGOTTEN YOU THIS DAY."
Whether we read the Old Testament or the New Testament, we find this truth. We are obligated to believe it. If we don't accept the SON of God, we are without excuse. God could say, "Haven't you read my book?" Agape

I think Jesus' baptism was near his birthday (Tishri 1) in 26 AD and his crucifixion on "the preparation of the passover" (Jn. 19:14) (Nisan 13) in 30 AD.
In my head, there is no way that the Crucifixion could have been in 31 AD. When Jesus was baptized, it was "the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar (Luke 3:1). Tiberius became Co-Rex with Augustus in 12 AD. Tiberius was sole ruler over the Holy Land from that time on, Augustus busying himself with other parts of the realm. Upon the death of Augustus in 14 AD, Tiberius became Sole-Rex.
If we take 12 AD as year #1, the 15th year is 26 AD, which should be the right way to figure it, because Tiberius was the only ruler over the Holy Land in 12 AD. Tishri 1, 26 AD to Nisan 13, 30 AD is about 3 1/2 years, the time of Jesus' ministry.
If we were to ignore the fact that Augustus was not actually ruling the Holy Land in 12 AD and call 14 AD year #1, the 15th year would be 28 AD. Adding 3 1/2 years to Tishri 1 in 28 AD would be 32 AD, not 31.

I don't figure with so-called prophetic years in Dan. 9, because it comes out right using ordinary solar years. Martin Anstey, in The Romance of Bible Chronology, told us that he found an 82-year mistake in the period of the Persian Kings. BC 536 - 82 = BC 454. Daniel's 483 years - 454 + 1 (no zero year) = 30 AD--right on the nose.
From 30 AD to 70 AD, when Jerusalem and the temple were burned, is the 40-year probation and testing, the meaning of the number 40. in Eze. 4:6. It says, "thou shalt bear the iniquity of the house of Judah forty days: I have appointed thee each day for a year." Since there is no doubt about the destruction being in 70 AD, we can subtract the 40 years and come to 30 AD, when their probation started.
Everything fits. The temple was begun in BC 19/20. It had been 46 years in building at the 1st passover of Jesus' ministry (Jn. 2:20), 27 AD, which was the Jewish 3787, a Sabbatic Year (3787 divided by 7 comes out even). Josephus said that the last Jubilee in the land was in the fall of 27 AD. That would have been when 3788 started, so he was counting the Jubilee as starting on Tishri 10, the Day of Atonement, when it was announced.
I think Jesus was about 30 years old when baptized in 26 AD. Thus, his birth would have been on Tishri 1 in BC 5. The wise men may have brought Jesus the gifts that symbolized his being deity (gold), the High Priest (frankincense), and his suffering (myrrh, which has to be crushed to bring forth its fragrance) in BC 3. That would tally with Herod having boys of 2 and under killed in Bethlehem. Herod would have died before the eclipse of Jan. 10, BC 1.
The 4000 years that started when Adam was expelled from the Garden of Eden would have ended in BC 3. To figure 2000 years from then: 2000 - 3 + 1 (no zero year) = 1998. It seems that the 4 years of the parable of the barren fig tree (Luke 13:6-9) may have started then. 1998 + 4 = 2002.

5713 divided by 7 does not come out even. Therefore, I don't think it is a Sabbatic Year. 5712 and 5719 would be Sabbatic Years. 5712 + 49 = 5761 (2000/2001), which we have passed. However, if we add 50 years, which could be a Jubilee year, we come to 5762 (2001/2002). This sounds possible.

When trying to figure out if a chonologer's work is sound, I first check their year for Noah's Flood. Here, Osmanson has 1656 (AH, year of man), which is correct. Almost all chronologers agree on this date. Then I looked at the corresponding BC date, 2496 BC, and I don't understand that date. I have BC 2387 (109-year difference). I take a look at the Adam to the Flood section of my Bible Chronology Chart. Here is what I have:
0 AH = 4043 BC = -283 on Jewish calendar. Adam created on last day of 0 AH. New moon was Fri, 17 min, 2 parts, after 4 PM. Since new moon was after noon, New Year Day would have been shifted to Sat., when the Lord rested the 7th day.
1 A.H. = 4043/42 B.C. Beginning of the 40-year Dispensation of Innocence. According to Jewish tradition, Adam was created on Tishri 1, but it seems to me that he was created Friday, September 18, equal to the Jewish Elul 29, the Preparation for the Feast of Trumpets. It could have been just minutes before Tishri 1 began at sunset. I think that God rested from creation Saturday, September 19, equal to the Jewish Tishri 1, the Jewish Sabbath, New Year and Feast of Trumpets. Thus with creation finished, the new "kosmos" began to operate on the Jewish New Year that began Friday evening.
(4042 AH = 2/1 BC, 4043 AH = 1 BC/1 AD, there is no zero year)
40 AH = 4004/3 BC = -243 Jewish. Adam expelled from the Garden of Eden. Beginning of the first 1000-year Day, the 2000-year Age of Gentiles, and the 1616-year Dispensation of Conscience.

1558 AH Shem born (Gen 11:10). (Noah born 1056 AH. He was 600 when flood began. Flood was in 1656 AH. Shem was 100 two yrs after Flood, so was 98 when Flood began. Therefore, he was born 1558 AH when Noah was 502)
1651 AH Lamech died at 777 (Gen 5:31), 5 yrs before the Flood
1656 AH = 2387 BC The Flood after Methuselah died at 969 (Gen 7:27), when Noah was 600 (Gen 7:6).
Beginning of the 427-year Dispensation of Human Government
DOUBLE CHECK:Methuselah lived 969 years and then the Flood came, Genesis 5:27. (687 AH + 969 = 1656 AH).
DOUBLE CHECK: Noah was 600 yrs old when the Flood came, Gen 7:6. (1056 AH + 600 = 1656 AH).
DOUBLE CHECK: Adam lived 930 yrs. Methuselah lived 969 yrs. Their lives overlapped 243 yrs. (930 + 969 = 1899 - 1656 to Flood = 243, making any changes difficult)
Next, I took a look at Jesus' birthday and crucifixion dates, BC 5 and 30 AD. I agree with those.

I doubt that the length of the year changed in Hezekiah's time. We weren't told that the length of the year changed on Joshua's Long Day, which was about a whole day. These 2 events could have been local miracles. God set the length of the year in Gen. 1:14, and I haven't found any place in Scripture that says he changed it....Agape
But the assertion that YHVH is not a name is completely false. In fact, the Torah quotes God as saying this is His name.

What does Rev.2:9 mean, or who is it referring to? What are your thoughts on this?
Their barbs do not bother me. That washes off my back like water off a duck's back. I try to see beyond that, and think about what this individual needs to know. Under his bluster, maybe he is searching for the truth, but doesn't want anyone to know it. Everyone deserves a chance.
Rev. 2:9 says, "I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan."
Rev. 2:9 is reinforced in 3:9. It says, "Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee."
It seems that Rev. 2:9 and 3:9 are talking about what we call British Israelism, claiming that the 10 lost tribes of Israel migrated to England and the USA. I don't believe that. Agape
Please ask "Rich" about Gen:22 (the ram sacrifice) the Akeida. This is the most important reading for the Jews. and it is read at Passover. What more proof do they need.
The sacrifice - is the Olah
The burnt offering - It must be totally consumed
It must be freely given
It must be filled with Joy in giving otherwise the sacrifice is not accepted.
The smoke of the sacrifice had to go straight up to heaven.
It could not be blown in any direction or the sacrifice was not accepted.
They believe that Isaac was 37 years old when he was offered up as a sacrifice by Abraham who was 130 yrs at that time.
We believe the Ram = substitute for the Messiah
The thicket = substitue for sins of the people

I agree with this. At the 1st Trump, the Bride group will be caught up to Heaven in the Pre-Trib Rapture. At the last trump, a great multitude will be caught up to Heaven in the Pre-Wrath Rapture on the 1st day of the millennial Day of the Lord. Of the 2nd group, 144,000 Israelites will join the Bride group, and then the Marriage of the Lamb will take place. The rest of the great multitude will attend the Marriage Supper of the Lamb along with the Bride and Bridegroom.
> > The Left Horn of the ram = ( 1st Trump) - signifies God entering into betrothal with Israel The Right Horn = (Last Trump) signifies the horn blown to herald the Messianic kingdom (the dead being raised)
1st Trump = I Thess. 4:13-18. It says, "But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent (Old English for precede) them which are asleep (the dead in Christ). For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with THE TRUMP OF GOD: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then WE which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words."
In this group are both the wise virgins of Israel and the wise virgins of the Church. Heb 11:40 says, "God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect."
Last Trump = I Cor. 15:50-53. It says, "Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, AT THE LAST TRUMP: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and WE shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality." Agape
