I spent many years as a Catholic. Was raised in a Catholic home - went to parochial school, etc., etc. I can tell you this much, most CATHOLICS just as this writer demonstrated, do NOT really KNOW what their church teaches for certain when it comes to things like the absolution of sin, etc. It is a FACT that the Catholic Church BELIEVES their priests have the POWER to absolve a person from their sins just as they believe they have power to change bread and wine into flesh and blood - another hopeless fallacy. He spoke of other religions that have ministers that people often ask to pray to God for them because they feel their minister is closerto God and it is NO different in the Catholic Church. Oh YES - it is VERY different! There is a definite organized HIERARCHY in the Catholic Church and they DO believe that the Higher up you go - the MORE power the priest, cardinal, pope, etc. has with God! Many people in that system simply aren't informed about what their church truly teaches. If they KNEW the truth about it's truly pernicious doctrines - they might WISE UP and leave just as they are commanded to do in Revelations - to COME OUT OF HER! Before it is too late. Agape!
How does a person get saved?
The Catechism of the Roman Catholic Church lists these requirements as necessary for salvation:
#1129 "The Church states that for believers the sacraments of the New Covenant are necessary for salvation."
#1257 states that "The Lord himself affirms that Baptism is necessary for salvation and Baptism is necessary for salvation for those to whom the gospel has been proclaimed and God has bound salvation to the sacrament of Baptism."
# 846 "Outside the (Catholic) Church there is no salvation"
The Apostasy of John Paul II: A Catholic Response, Written by Most Rev. Daniel L. Dolan of the Catholic Restoration. In his work Reverend Dolan, a traditional Roman Catholic cleric declares that the pope, John Paul II is in a state of apostasy. He has departed from traditional Roman Catholic doctrines, such as Extra Ecclesium Nulla Salus and embraced ecumenism which says that all religions of man are valid ways to eternal salvation.
In Acts 16:30, the Philippian jailer asks Paul & Silas "And leading them outside, he said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?"
Paul & Silas respond "And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved, and your household." Acts 16:31
The Word of God states:
Rom 10:8-10 "that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." NKJV
Eph 2:8-9 "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast." NKJV
Notice that the central focus of the Scriptures is on Jesus for salvation. However, central to the Roman Catholic version of salvation is the Roman Catholic Church and their sacraments....
"We declare, say, define, and pronounce that it is absolutely necessary for the salvation of every human creature to be subject to the Roman Pontiff." Source: Papal Bull: Unam Sanctam, by Pope Boniface VIII, 1302.

The Roman Catholic Church teaches that her priests (no matter how wicked or sinful they may personally be) exercise the power of forgiving sins by hearing confession of sins and granting pardon for them as ministers of God and in His name....
CONFESSION IS ONLY TO BE MADE TO GOD HIMSELF!
Ezr.10:11 says, "Now therefore make confession unto the LORD God...." And again in Mark 2:7
"...who can forgive sins but God only?" 1Jo.1:9 reads: "If we confess our sins, [To God, not a priest] He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us [absolution] from all unrighteousness."
I John 2:1: "And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous...."
Psalms 32:5 says: "I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah." ...
As a young Catholic girl who went every week to confession, I can, from experience, tell you that the priest never received from me a true confession, for even if I would have believed I had given a "good confession", be assured that the Catholic does not confess the sins of idolatry (bowing before images) and blasphemy (giving to Mary the attributes that belong to God alone and worshipping a piece of bread as God)....
Chiniquy, in his book, The Priest, The Woman and The Confessional, page 117, observes:
"It is a public fact, which no learned Roman Catholic has ever denied, that auricular confession became a dogma and obligatory practice of the church only at the Council of Lateran in the year 1215, under the Pope Innocent III. Not a single trace of auricular confession, as a dogma, can be found before that year."
HOUSTON, TEXAS -- Our solar system may have had a fifth terrestrial planet, one that was swallowed up by the Sun. But before it was destroyed, the now missing-in-action world made a mess of things. Space scientists John Chambers and Jack Lissauer of NASA's Ames ResearchCenter hypothesize that along with Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars -- the terrestrial, rocky planets -- there was a fifth terrestrial world, likely just outside of Mars's orbit and before the inner asteroid belt.
Moreover, Planet V was a troublemaker.
The computer modeling findings of Chambers and Lissauer were presented during the 33rd Lunar and Planetary Science Conference, held here March 11-15, and sponsored by NASA and the Lunar and Planetary Institute.
It is commonly believed that during the formative years of our solar system, between 3.8 billion and 4 billion years ago, the Moon and Earth took a pounding from space debris. However, there is an on-going debate as to whether or not the bruising impacts tailed off 3.8 billion year ago or if there was a sudden increase - a "spike" -- in the impact rate around 3.9 billion years ago, with quiet periods before and afterwards?
This epoch of time is tagged as the "lunar cataclysm" - also a wakeup call on the cosmological clock when the first evidence of life is believed to have appeared on Earth. The great cover-up Having a swarm of objects clobbering the Moon in a narrow point of time would have resurfaced most of our celestial next door neighbor, covering up its early history. Being that the Moon is so small, Earth would have been on the receiving end of any destructive deluge too. Moon-walking astronauts brought back a cache of lunar material. Later analysis showed that virtually all impact rocks in the "Apollo collection" sported nearly the same age, 3.9 billion years, and none were older. But some scientists claim that these samples were "biased", as they came from a small area of the Moon, and are the result of a localized pummeling, not some lunar big bang.
There is a problem in having a "spike" in the lunar cratering rate. That scenario is tough to devise. Things should have been settling down, according to solar system creation experts. Having chunks of stuff come zipping along some hundreds of millions of years later out of nowhere and create a lunar late heavy bombardment is a puzzler.
If real, what were these bodies, and where were they before they scuffed up the Moon big time? The answer, according to Chambers and Lissauer, might be tied to the the Planet V hypothesis.
"The extra planet formed on a low-eccentricity orbit that was long-lived, but unstable," Chambers reported. About 3.9 billion years ago, Planet V was perturbed by gravitational interactions with the other inner planets. It was tossed onto a highly eccentric orbit that crossed the inner asteroid belt, a reservoir of material much larger than it is today.
Planet V's close encounters with the inner belt of asteroids stirred up a large fraction of those bodies, scattering them about. The perturbed asteroids evolved into Mars crossing orbits, and temporarily enhanced the population of bodies on Earth-crossing orbits, and also increased the lunar impact rate.
After doing its destabilizing deeds, Planet V was lost too, most likely spinning into the Sun, the NASA team reported. The temporary existence of more than 4 planet-sized bodies in the inner Solar System is consistent with the currently favored model for the formation of the Moon. Work by Chambers and Lissauer also supports the view that our Moon is a leftover of a massive collision between Earth and a Mars-sized body 50 million to 100 million years after the formation of the Solar System.
Striking view Wendell Mendell, a planetary scientist here at NASA's Johnson Space Center,said the new theory is intriguing. "This idea and others within the last few years show that the Solar System is filled with all sorts of gravitational resonances...that a lot of potential orbits in the Solar System are chaotic and unstable," Mendell told SPACE.com. "My sense is that this is a new idea. It's another thing to throw into the pot that's not totally crazy."
The work suggests there's a match up in timing, Mendell said, with asteroids striking the Moon and causing the effects that are seen in the dating of Apollo lunar rocks.
"By thinking that the Solar System was really quite different in a major way with an extra inner planet, we might be able to develop some sort of self-consistent scenario that explains a lot of things. But all this is at the very early stages now," Mendell said....
I do think there was a 5th terrestrial planet. I don't think it was swallowed up by the Sun. It seems to have been split in pieces by an errant space rock and formed our Asteroid Belt. Explosion driven pieces hit every planet whose surface we have been able to see. Mars was hurt so badly that she is terribly scarred on one side. That may be when she lost most of her atmosphere and water. It could be when Saturn acquired her rings. Comets of rock, dust and ice may have some of the water lost from both the 4th and 5th planets. We have several small water comets hitting our upper atmosphere every day.

More than that, if some large stone from the cataclysm that formed the Asteroid Belt slammed into Earth, it could have blown off the material that now makes up our Moon. I think the Moon's fragmented Breccia, made up of small broken rock fragments of various kinds, glass beads and compacted soil, were blasted out of our Pacific Basin and then conglomerated. It is easy to see that the glass was formed from the heat of the asteroid impact. We have glass spherules scattered across the Earth from asteroid impacts. Moon rocks have the minerals found on Earth, but, as would be expected, much lesser amounts of the volatile elements sodium, potassium, and lead that would have vaporized upon impact.
Gen 1:9 says, "God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto ONE PLACE (maqowm, locality, place, space, spot) and let the dry land appear: and it was so." Psa 104:5-8 says, "Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed for ever. Thou coveredst it with the deep as with a garment: the waters stood above the mountains. At thy rebuke they fled; at the voice of thy thunder they hasted away. They go up by the mountains; they go down by the valleys unto THE PLACE (maqowm) WHICH THOU HAST FOUNDED FOR THEM."
I think the name of this planet was Rahab, and it belonged to Satan. Psa 89:10 says, "Thou hast BROKEN RAHAB IN PIECES, as one that is slain; thou hast scattered thine ENEMIES with thy strong ARM." Isa 51:9 says, "Awake, awake, put on strength, O ARM of the LORD; awake (on the Day of God's Wrath), as in the ancient days, in the generations of old. Art thou not it that hath cut (split) RAHAB , and wounded the dragon (Satan)?"
Isa 22:16-19 says, "What hast thou here (Babylon)? and whom hast thou here (the Satan-possessed False Prophet), that thou hast hewed thee out a sepulchre here, as he (Satan) that heweth him out a sepulchre on high, and that GRAVETH AN HABITATION FOR HIMSELF IN A ROCK (the asteroid Wormwood, Rev. 8:11)? Behold, the LORD will carry thee away with a mighty captivity, and will surely cover thee. He will surely violently turn and TOSS THEE LIKE A BALL into a large country (Iraq): there shalt thou die, and there the chariots of thy glory shall be the shame of thy lord's house. And I will drive thee from thy station, and from thy state shall he pull thee down."
Job 26:1-14 (JB) says, "The pillars (uprights, i.e., the righteous) of the heavens tremble, awe-struck at his threats. By his power, he has whipped up the Sea, by his skill, HE HAS CRUSHED RAHAB. His breath has made the heavens luminous (the blackness of space lit up by the impact explosion), his hand transfixed the FLEEING SERPENT (Satan). This is only a fraction of what he has done and all we catch of it is the feeblest echo."
Isa. 51:9-16 (KJV) says, "Awake, awake, put on strength, O ARM of the LORD; awake, as in the ancient days, in the generations of old. Art thou not it that hath CUT RAHAB, and WOUNDED THE DRAGON (SATAN)? Art thou not it which hath dried the sea, the waters of the great deep...who art thou, that thou shouldest be afraid of a man that shall die, and of the son of man which shall be made as grass; And forgettest the LORD thy maker, that hath stretched forth the heavens, and laid the foundations of the earth...I am the LORD (YHVH) thy God, that DIVIDED THE SEA, whose waves roared: The LORD (YHVH) of hosts is his name (the pre-incarnate Christ, the Son of God). And I have put my words in thy mouth, and I have covered thee in the shadow of mine hand, that I may plant (nata, fix, place) the heavens, and lay the foundations of the earth."
Now that the heavens are fixed in place, the 3rd heaven of II Cor. 12:1-3 is (1) Mars, (2) Jupiter and (3) Saturn. Agape
On February 20th, I forwarded the amazing, documented story of a man whom God raised from the dead during a Reinhard Bonnke evangelistic meeting in Africa. The report was from the Charisma News Service. I am repeating it below for reference.
The purpose of this message is to report that while I have not yet seen the Bonnke video, I know two people who have seen it. One of them, not online, sent me a letter describing what happened. She said:
"The man died on Friday, November 30, 2001, was embalmed with embalming fluid, and then on Sunday, December 2, 2001, God raised him from the dead.
"When the man from NIgeria 'died,' two angels took him to Paradise, where he saw angels and saints worshipping God. He was shown a beautiful mansion, and an angel told him that the rich man's prayer (Luke 16:30), was about to be answered in this generation.
"(He) was then shown Hell, and is therefore another eye-witness of both Heaven and Hell.
My friend added that Reinhard Bonnke was recently describing the incident on television, saying, "This resurrection was granted to this generation BECAUSE THE COMING OF THE LORD IS SO NEAR."

Reinhard Bonnke Video Documents Modern-Day Lazarus

Nigerian certified dead, but revived days later at evangelist's meeting
The dramatic documentary of a modern-day Lazarus has been released by international evangelist Reinhard Bonnke. The German preacher who has led crusades in Africa for 30 years says that the remarkable resurrection of Daniel Ekechukwu is so well-documented that no one can be unaffected by the report.
Bonnke's Christ for All Nations (CfAN) ministry has released a 45-minute video of Ekechukwu's testimony, and also reported at its Web site how the Nigerian pastor had been certified dead and injected with embalming fluids before reviving three days later at a Bonnke meeting.
Ekechukwu's wife was so sure that God would bring her husband back to life after he was fatally injured in an auto accident that she persuaded the local mortuary to allow her to take his body to the church where Bonnke was preaching.
There pastors lifted Ekechukwu from the coffin in which he had been laid, and were amazed when the man started to breathe again as they prayed for him. The CfAN video includes footage of Ekechukwu beginning to stir, and later returning to the mortuary where his body had been laid out.
The "Raised from the Dead" report, subtitled "A 21st Century Resurrection Story," features interviews with one of the doctors who certified Ekechukwu dead, and the mortician. "It's shocking," one of them tells the video team. "Seeing a dead man, someone that was once dead and is now alive...it is very shocking. To God all glory should go."
Nneka Ekechukwu says that when her husband was pronounced dead after last November's accident, she remembered promises God had given her that she would not suffer any more misfortune. "I said: 'This can't happen. I must do something, to prove God again.'"
On the third day after the accident, Ekechukwu's body was taken in its coffin to a church in Ontisha, where Bonnke was preaching at a service. The body was taken out of its coffin and put on a table in the church's conference center, where several pastors began to pray.
Senior pastor Pat Nwachkuw Sr. tells the CfAN documentary makers that when members of the church learned about Ekechwuku's resurrection, a woman who had been on crutches threw them away and started running, and her husband ran to the church altar to ask God to forgive him his sins.
Interviewed by CfAN, Ekechukwu says when he was being taken to the hospital in the ambulance, he was visited by two angels and taken to heaven. There he saw a "multitude" of people dressed in white who were singing and praising God. Then he was taken to hell, he says.
The angel told him that he had "another chance" to go back, and that the rich man's request to Lazarus -- to warn those still alive about hell -- had been "granted to this generation." Ekechukwu said that he had been told he could return to the living to give "a last warning to this generation."
In commentary on the video, Bonnke says that the testimony -- which has been reported in Nigerian newspapers -- spoke of "stubborn faith and the miracle power of Jesus." Ekechukwu's story is a "sign from heaven," he says.

The above is totally biblical. In Matthew 10:8, Jesus commanded the disciples to go and "raise the dead." That is part of the verse where Jesus said, "Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give." (In most churches, we only hear the last six words of that verse -- at collection time!)
Then, in the Great Commission given in Matthew 28:19, which we know also applies to us, Jesus said, "Teaching them to observe ALL THINGS WHATSOEVER I HAVE COMMANDED YOU: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. "
We are not at the end of the world yet, so His command is still in effect! Until then, we are supposed to teach and practice everything Jesus commanded His disciples. (It's in the Book!)

This was something I stumbled onto as I strove to understand Scripture, all the deep things, everything. Of course, I don't know all of it, but I sure would like to. God singled out six blocks of years, added them up and put them in Scripture. When added to 1517 AD, when Martin Luther tacked his 95 theses on the church door in Wittenberg, Germany, they seem to point to important dates here at the end of the Age.
(1) 400 from the casting out of Ishmael to the Exodus
(2) 430 from Abram's call to the Exodus
(3) 450 from the division of Canaan to king Saul, the period of the judges
(4) 480 theocratic years from the Exodus to the beginning of temple construction
(5) 483 years from the commandment to rebuild Jerusalem to just before the Crucifixion
(6) 490 Theocratic years from the commandment to rebuild Jerusalem to the Second Advent

Yes, it is the Hebrew calendar. Add 3761, date when the Jewish Calendar began in BC, to the Gregorian year and you can find the Jewish Year. For instance, 2000 + 3761 = 5761, which starts on Tishri 1 in the fall of 2000 and continues until the fall of 2001. If we add these blocks of years to 5728 (1517 AD), we have a new list.

(4) 1997/1998 - maybe the beginning of the 4 years in Luke 13:6-9

(6) 2007/2008 - maybe Day of God's Wrath on Tishri 1, first day of the Jewish Civil Year, and the Second Advent 7 months later, on Nisan 1, first day of the Jewish Regnal and Sacred Year (Eze. 39:12,13
Since the first 3 mark known events, the last 3 probably mark important events.

Yes, but actually, I will be surprised if it isn't this year, maybe on Pentecost, May 17 and 18. We should keep watching. There may be more signs too. The Rapture is as the days of Noah and Noah knew 7 days ahead of time when it would start to rain (Gen. 7:4).
Be sure to confess all sins so God can cleanse you of all unrighteousness (I John 1:9). The Bride wears white spiritual robes of righteousness. Agape
