Christianity of good works, ideals and inspiration. | Christianity of redemption. |
Christ is being preached as inspirer, great leader and teacher. He is divine to some, with others he is only man. Christianity of instruction and education as to describe the word 'salvation'. | Man is a sinner without any hope and under the condemnation of God's law. He/she could do nothing to save him/herself. By faith in Christ the Redeemer, man/woman is forgiven. The guilt and the stain of sin is taken away, and he/she is made a member of the family of God. |
The death of Christ is but an incident, though a moving and beautiful incident. |
The death of Christ is the one grand truth around which gather all the others truths of the Christian Faith. It is a fact eternal in its significance and universal in its application. This truth takes the place in preaching which it did in the preaching of the apostle Paul. |
Take away the death of Christ from the man/woman, he/she is not much troubled for he/she has the parables and the sayings of Jesus left. |
If you take away the death of Christ from the man/woman , you have taken all that he/she has. His/her only hope is Christ crucified and risen again. The man/woman who feels that he/she is a sinner and must have a Saviour greater than him/herself has no other hope but Christ crucified for his/her sins. |
Those who follow Christ as a leader, teacher, giver of blessing and example. |
Those who trust in Him as their Redeemer. |
