Many young talented New Zealanders are leaving this beautiful country.
It was the topic's discussion between an Immigrant Officer, a party
Leader and an
Economist on Holmes' TV- One Each had given their arguments from
economical aspects and national identity viewpoints. They had discussed
on things below rather than on things above. How could they?
We are living today in a post-modern culture where all values are
equivalent and all truth is relative. There are no principles, just
momentary preferences, and everything depends on what's to be gained
by
those in positions of power.
Our sport team only achieved one gold medallion at the Sidney 2000
Olympic games.
The gap of long-term unemployment is widening; not closing as promised
by the elected Prime Minister.
Our health system was unable to detect the cervical cancer report in
Gisborne.
New Zealand's permissive drug culture takes a new turn to legalize
marijuana.
And tragically people began killing themselves and their children.
For quite a long time New Zealand was renowned in sending out
missionaries to the world. Judaeo-Christian principles were the core
of
her legislation and the bedrock of our once healthy society. Family
lives were prosperous until the leaders in the church have departed
from
the faith, which was once delivered unto the saints.
The churches have forsaken their first love.
Our moral acceptance of abortion is unabated and an increased of flirtation
with
paganism is on the rising.
Could we say that as the nation departing from the biblical values we
are thus
experiencing things like above?
“Why has the LORD done such a thing to this land?”
One probable answer is that the leaders of New Zealand have forsaken
the LORD
their God, who brought their fathers out of Europe, out of England,
out of Great Britain
and have embraced other gods. God of humanism, god of hedonism, god
of sexual liberation,
god of political correctness, worshiping and serving them-- that is
why
the LORD brought all this disaster on this land. [ref:1 Kings 9:9]
“Oh hoy this is not an encouraging message at all.”, you might said in your heart.
But listen - lest we forget:
“ If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves
and
pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I
hear
from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” 2
Chron. 7:14
