THE ORIGIN OF WRITING
I have now composed a new "Origin of Writing" site under my own domain. I will eventually move the content from this, my 'old' "Geocities" site to that location; but for now, you can visit either site.
My new site, which is presently included in issue 9 of "Rhizomes.net" (an on-line philosophy journal from the University of Washington) outlines my research into 'the origin of writing' through the use of the 'seven criteria for sign differentiation' outlined by the French post-structural philosopher Gilles Deleuze in his book "Proust and Signs" (that being an analysis of Proust's masterwork, "In Search of Lost Time"). This new site of mine (which has virtually unlimited data transfer bandwidth) is located at:

The old site is somewhat scattered in its organization (it was put together in 1-hour-per-day installments, over a considerable period of time); but, it has a lot of things not yet available on my new site (although it does have a limited data transfer bandwidth). The new site, by contrast, is a very systematic look at the topic of John Morton November 22nd, 2004.
