NerfNews Special Distribution

This issue of NerfNews has an unheard circulation of almost 160!  That's right, everyone at GoAhead is receiving this issue instead of the usual small subset of social misfits.  It was suggested that there may be some GoAheaders out there that have not yet discovered their inner nerds.  If you wish to continue receiving the somewhat infrequent future issues of NerfNews, it might be a good idea to reply to this message.  Otherwise, I'll just have to assume you hate me for filling your inbox with rubbish.  Don't you worry about me.  I've got friends you know.  Maybe.

Kumar Dondar says, "Glad to Nerf You!"

Although it seems like yesterday, Friday, March 2 of this year was the last unofficial episode of Nerf Games.  Participation was limited to four players, but that didn't dampen anyone's fighting spirit.

There were two surprises in the evening.  Jon Fleming, for some unknown reason, was the first victim in each of four rounds of "Last Man Standing".  Even more unusual was the fact that all other players enjoyed the experience of terminating his game at least once.

The second surprise of the evening was the amazing stealth and accuracy of Kumar Dondar.  George Schraw, John Marshall, and Jon Fleming all loaded up every round with as much ammo as they could carry.  However, Kumar always insisted, "I only need three bullets".  Most of the time he was right, but in one face-to-face showdown a-la "Reservoir Dogs", his not-so-trusty PowerClip misfired, and he went down in a blaze of yellow and pink foam.

The one-hour edition of Nerf Games did prove one thing:  you don't need a big crowd to have a great time.

IS Labs Develops New Nerf Ammunition

GoAhead Professor Emeritus, Garret Whitney has been busy at the bench developing a new, highly sophisticated type of Nerf Ammo.  With his research associate, Steve Lokos, affectionately known as "Beaker", he has tested this ammunition and found it to be quite effective.  It seems that by placing a paper clip in the business end of a Nerf Foam dart, and firing it point blank into your assistant's posterior, a very load cry of pain can be elicited.  If asked politely, Mr. Lokos may reveal to you the extent that this new ammunition damages the epidermis.

Upcoming Nerf Games

Nerf Games are coming to the Seventh Floor!  That's right, next Thursday June 28 at approximately 6:15, we'll be playing three varieties of Nerf Games:  Last Man Standing, Capture the Flag, and Fortress.  We'll provide the equipment, you provide the targets, um, I mean enthusiasm.  Although we do have extra sets of eye protection, it would be a good idea to bring your own.  Wrap-around sunglasses will do.  For more information, contact Jon Fleming or John Marshall.

Some folks wonder what all the fuss is about Nerf.  Here are a couple of links to get you started on what is evolving as an excellent way to relieve work pressure with your colleagues.

Latest Deals on Nerf Equipment

Nerf equipment is actually very cheap when compared to paintball guns.  Excellent Nerf Blasters and ammo can be had for less than $20.  Although we provide all the gear you'll ever need, you might want to have your own gun to love and cherish.  KBKids.com has the very excellent PowerClip (this is the staple we currently use, we have almost 20) can be had for approximately $9.50.  Use the $10 off coupon "dolekbkid" to bring the total (i.e. shipped to your door) price down to the aforementioned price.

Until next time,
The NerfNews Crew.
