On these pages I want to tell about some of the
interesting things you can hear on shortwave, give some
tips on listening, give advice on good radios for
beginners, and provide links to other sites with info
for SWLs.
I will also have QSL cards and other memorabilia from
stations.
For those of you who have never listened to World Band Radio, check out my station memorabilia below, to see what kinds of interesting things we get from around the world. This is only a tiny sampling of what I have received.
I'll bet you don't know what my favorite station is!
SWLs, I have so much to say about this subject, that I don't know where to start, so I decided to start with the subject that is the most important to us as listeners, the subject of funding for the stations. The next page only has a few paragraphs so far and a QSL card, but any input you can give me would be appreciated. Click here.
I also have a section on The Voice of Russia. I added some new pictures of VOR staff members to this page on 26 March.
A Radio Moscow Christmas card sent to us by Joe Adamov.
A wonderful station is China Radio International. On our newsmedia, we only hear bad things about China, we never hear about their language, music, art, folklore, etc. Try listening to them sometime, they have a lot of cultural information.
Irkutsk DX Club Various information about broadcasting on shortwaves from/to Russia.
Another good one is Grove Enterprises this is the site where you will find Monitoring Times, as well as radios and everything you will need to go along with them.
Passport to World Band Radio is definitely the best place to find out everything you would ever need to know about listening to world band radio. It has sections with reviews of most of the radios out there, a section that is like TV Guide telling you what's on, frequency listings, addresses, websites, and more. It's a "must have" for listeners.
Another site which I enjoy in England is Dan Atkinson's site. There is a lot of information here, and Dan is also doing a whole section on VOR.
Don't forget to visit Ulis Flemmings site Club Babalu for many great pages of information.
If you want to get all your links to international stations and their program schedules in a very easy to read format on one site click here.
For lots and lots of computer information as well as info on radios, go visit Kevin Hecht.
One of the members of #SWL net, Steve, KG8KO, has some very funny stories on his web site.
Dave Kirby's site has lots of information and links.
TRS Consultants also has a wealth of information.
Alcue's page has lots of interval signals to listen to. Don't know what an interval signal is? Then go find out!!
Go visit Harry for all the information you will ever need to know. There is so much information that you will probably find yourself spending at least an hour there.
I finally found their site again! It's the Mohawk Valley Shortwave Listener's Club. Go visit them in Herkimer, New York. Herkimer is a very beautiful place on the Erie Canal.
Nancy has a lot of links on a variety of subjects on her pages, as well as SW links. She also has UTC conversion charts and QSLs.
For everyone at #SWL Net, I will list all your pages, I just have to check the URLs.
This webring was featured on VOR's "You Write to Moscow".
