Satanism

October 29, 1997 Anton Szandor LaVey, dubbed "The Black Pope", died of pulmonary edema, at the age of 67. It is indeed a sad day for much of the Satanic Community. May he rest in peace with the knowledge that he revived a religion that has become a way of life to many. My deepest remorse and respect goes to his family and those who knew him well. Ave Satanis! Hail Anton! Hail Satan!

The Church of Satan and it's members are Satanists, not devil-worshipers, there is a difference! "We don't worship Satan, we worship ourselves using the metaphorical representation of the qualities of Satan. Satan is the name used by Judeo-Christians for that force of individuality and pride within us. But the force itself has been called by many names. We embrace Christian myths of Satan and Lucifer, along with Satanic renderings in Greek, Islamic, Sumerian, Syrian, Phyrygian, Egyptian, Chinese, or Hindu mythologies, to name but a few. We are not limited to one diety, but encompass all the expressions of the accuser or the one who advocates free thought and rational alternatives by whatever name he is called in a particular time and land. It so happens that we are living in a culture that is predominately Judeo-Christian, so we emphasize Satan. If we were living in Roman times, the central figure perhaps the title of our religion, would be different. But the name would be expressing and communicating the same thing. Before you decide to preach to a satanist, think of this first.. A satanists belief/religion is their being, when you tell them their 'god' is evil they scoff because all you just did was call them evil, it means nothing to a satanist. Before you tell them that their choice of religion is wrong, that everything they believe in, everything they stand for is wrong and defiant, then question why they should get defensive, after all, it's true, and they should know what you say is true, right?..  Then replay what you said in your head hear it as though someone else had just said it to you, what would your reaction be if someone were to tell you that your 'god' is wrong your religion, your beliefs, your way of Life is wrong... that's what I thought.

Then remember this, a true satanist puts their life before all else, they cherish it, rejoice in it, celebrate it. To try and tell them anything diminishing is an insult at the highest level.

Satanist are strong and will happily prove it if the need arisses, but why should it, why should we have to prove ourselves, you feel that you are justified, so are we. It goes hand in hand with thinking before you act, just remember what I said... repeat it to yourself as if someone was saying it to you. What would your reaction be.. then if you still feel it needs to be said, go ahead.. just remember this.. satanist are smart, we know how to handle those who annoy us, those who threaten, those who flame or mail bomb.. we know what to do and will gladly do it.  This wasn't put here because of a mass of problems, but simply because it's out there.. simply because people do it, simply because.. It needs to be said...
