Wasted alcoholics and strung-out drug addicts do not understand that they are harming themselves, their families, the economy, the society and their species. They believe that they are harmless social drinkers or that they are just chipping because they are in denial.

People who are sexually active or who plan to be are even less able to perceive the suffering that they cause and endure. Unlike druggies and boozers, whose inane behavior is contrasted by the majority of people of earth, the sexually active have no large comparison group of long term celibates to demonstrate a superior adaptation. Without realizing it, they often heap on themselves and their society consequences similar in kind and severity to those perpetrated by alcoholics and drug addicts:

1. Alcohol and drug abuse cause physical and mental damage to the users but sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) also damage the body and the nervous system.

   Drug overdoses kill but so do (STDs).

   Alcoholics and addicts give birth to physically and mentally defective children but congenital syphilis, herpes and other (STDs)also cause birth defects.

   Alcoholics and addicts cause a tremendous loss in productivity in the economic sector but romantically involved co-workers flirt away vast amounts of time and expose their employers to harassment suits.

   Alcoholics and addicts cost society billions of dollars in medical and other expenses but sexually indiscriminate people have created a budget busting welfare bill by birthing an army of children that they can not or will not support.

   Alcohol and drug abuse cause the breakup of many families but sexual infidelity is probably the largest single cause of family breakups.

   Alcoholics and addicts are disproportionately abusive of spouses and children but, among the major abusers of women and children, is the endless string of stray men with whom single mothers have affairs. In fact, research indicates that, after the mother and father themselves, mommy's boyfriends are the most common abusers of children. Worse, documentation is accumulating to suggest that a significant number of single mothers ignore that child abuse for fear that they will lose their boyfriends if they do anything about it.

   Drug addicts double the crime rate to get money for their next fix but sex addicts harass, molest, sodomize and rape millions of children, women and men.

   Drug wars disrupt neighborhoods and endanger human life but abortion, resulting directly from sexual behavior, has divided society politically so arsons, bombings and shootings have become a constant threat. .

   Drug related murders are commonplace but sexual infidelity has been a major cause of homicide and suicide throughout human history.

   Chemical addiction is disrupting the societies of many nations but overpopulation, starvation and other direct consequences of sexual behavior are also disrupting human society.

   It is said that alcoholics and addicts cause a lot of trouble, from auto accidents to bar fights, because their judgment is impaired, but millions of sexually active people have demonstrated seriously impaired judgment by believing that "We're safe without a condom if we do it just once" or "You don't have anything to worry about, I tested negative for AIDS only six months ago" or "Your husband will never find out" or "It doesn't matter that she's 20 years younger because she loves me for who I am" or "I know he'll never leave me because he said so and, anyway, I'm carrying his child" and so on and on and on and on.
