But my mouth would encourage you; comfort from my lips would bring you relief.
Job 16:5 (NIV)

When we think of Jesus saying these words, we realize He knew her crippling lasted eighteen years. He also described them as "long" years. Who told Him they were long? No one needed to, for He was there. He was in the duration of those eighteen bent years. He could say there were long because He endured them with her. Through what area is long suffering being fulfilled in your years? As another year ends, it is not empty. It is known, experienced, and being counted. Perhaps for you, as well, the accumulation of years is being acknowledged as long. WHEN will deliverance come? Though we cannot answer when, we can know that on that day the years preceding will carry something of worth. They were recorded and counted. "Record my lament; put my tears in Your wineskin. Are they not in Your record?" (Psalms 56:8) |
