This story began in the village of shadyside,in the 1900's.Nora Goode had been sitting in this cold room most of the night,answering questions that were forming in her mind.Mostly about her child and how she was going to make things better for herself.

There are actually only three main characters in this book. One of which is Nora Goode,she is the mother of Nicholas Goode. One other charecter is Ruth Manning. She is a pale skined teenager that has black eyes.

The dark power of the fear family consumes all those connected with it. The fears. Those they love--- and hate. The entire town of shadyside. All are tainted forever by the evil of the family's curse. No one can escape. Nora Goode and Daniel Fear hoped to end the curse of the fear family. But on there wedding day, a horrible fire swept through the fear mansion, taking the life of every member of the doomed family.Exept one.A new fear. The child of Nora and Daniel. Nicholas.

To resolve the problem Nicholas went to his home town where the curse began to try and stop the curse.He looked up everything he could about his family history. He then found out that about 100 years ago his whole family was having a party at a mansion and the whole mansion caught on fire and all his ansisters, aunts, uncles(and people like that)Died. After Learning about his family he hoped that the evil would not follow him.

I recommend this book to any one who likes scary stories, that keep you on the end of your seat. Although this book was not that scary, it is very suspensefull. In every chapter there is something to look forward to. And it is fun trying to guess who the killer is.
