Setting Description

Rachel Robinson lives in Connecticut in cluster housing called Palfrey's Pond. Most of the story takes place at Rachel's house and at her school, Fox Junior High.

Charater Desription

Rachel Robinson is the main character. She is a very tall bruenette.She gets straight A's and is a very smart 7th grader at at Fox Junior High. She is in 9th grade math.She is a natural helper at her school. A natural hepler is a person that helps kids that go to that school deal with their problems. She plays the flute and is very good at it because she practices 45 minutes each day. She loves to listen to classicle music. People tease her about how smart she is and she is very sensitive about it. She hates it when people say she's a prodigy and a genius.

Problem Encountered

Rachel's older brother Charles goes to a boarding school because he has problems. Rachels mom and dad get a phone call from Charles' boarding school. They say that Charles isn't doing his homework and refuses to take tests. They expell Charles because of this. So now Charles has to come home. Rachel is upset because Charles always calls her names. When Charles comes home problems start. He has an attittude and talks back and calls people names. People think it's normal for 16 year olds to do things like that, but Charles does it even worse. Their family starts to have lots of problems.

Resolution To Problem

The Robinson family goes to family therapy. Charles doesn't want to talk or be a part of it. Finally they all talk about their problems.They satrt to resolve their differences and become a nice family.

Recommendation

I would recommend this book to ayone who has read Just As Long As We're Together , the books companion. It has the same characters that are in Here's To You, Rachel Robinson. Here's To You,Rachel Robinson deals with real life situations and problems. There were lots of funny parts ,but there were serious parts too. This book made me laugh and think about families.
