The Wonderful World of Horses

Me and "Clown" - North Texas Hunter/Jumper Year End Show - 1997

Horses, along with my Scottish heritage, are my biggest passion in life. I started riding at the age of eight, and immidiatly I fell in love with horses and riding. At twelve I started showing, and I still am. I started riding--and showing--at Merriwood, where I rode a Quater Horse named Ivey.

I rode at Los Colinas for many years, where I did not have my own horse but rode a beautiful and talented Thoroughbred named Clown. He recently retired, which he greatly deserved. He is an amazing horse.

Last winter I was chosen to exersize a beautiful Tennessee Walker named Collecter's Coin Toss. He was the top-ranking Walking horse stallion in the nation, and riding him was amazing. Me and "C.T."(below)

For quite a while I was excercizing and training other people's horses since I don't have my own and I had no horse to show at the time. I then moved out to Curragh Stables and rode there for a few months. For a while I was at Prospering Farms, which I loved, and trained at twice a week while showing in the North Texas Hunter Jumper shows.

Max is a great horse, and I wish I were still riidng him, but he's in high demand for leasing. No wonder; he's a phenomenal hunter. I visit him often, and I swear he remembers me.

At the moment I am trying to ride and show as much as possible, even though I don't have a horse of my own. Someday...

My favourite breed has always been Andalusians, and I dream of getting an Andalusian colt and turning it into a championship stallion. It's a lot, but it's my dream.

Whatever breed, whatever skill, horses are to me a treasure and a blessing. I can't remember a time when I didn't want them in my life. All I know is, I love horses, and I want to work with them forever. To me, there's nothing more wonderful than a horse.
