Comrads and War Stories

A Poem by Laurence David Sterling III

Comrades and war stories Lies and half-lies Triumphs and defeats Reflections of when many were one And one was many Sadly we let it pass Gladly we remember When we were young And the world seemed At times To depended on us In those convergences Of hero and ego Fame and facade We are eternally locked Together Ah, the comfort and the pain Terror and refrain Found in the treasure of Comrades and war stories.
