LONE EAGLE

A Poem by Laurence David Sterling III

like a lone eagle you soar in the deep blue cloudless skies of this earth let no man be your master no weakling be your ally a sole inspiration to the wingless beings below you ride the winds with majesty you tease the earth that attempts to capture you you trumpet your name so even the angels can hear lone eagle, angels keep you for there are those who wish your death they covet your wings, your noble heart they wish to deny you the freedoms they can not have soar on eagle in a moment of worship remember we that can not soar the same as thee
