Administrative responsibilities include leadership for the Department of Agricultural and Applied Economics at the University of Georgia.and all of it's research, extension and teaching programs. Foster good working relations with the agricultural and natural resource community and interdisciplinary and interagency cooperation. Implement faculty, student and staff recruitment, faculty and staff performance evaluations and promotions, program planning, and professional development of faculty and staff. Manage budgetary matters for research, extension and instruction.
Research responsibilities focus on the economic evaluation of federal and state policies affecting
agriculture. The research is aimed at:
(a) identifying the farm, trade and natural
resource problems,
(b) identifying relevant policy alternatives
as solutions to the problems and
(c) assessing the economic consequences of
alternative agricultural policies.
Instructional responsibilities include teaching
undergraduate courses on economic theory of the
firm, economic thory of the aggregate economy,
and agricultural poilicy and graduate courses on
agricultural policy, graduate research, and
masters theses and Ph.D. dissertations.
