About My Family
OK, let me put on my Olias of Sunhillow CD (or maybe Cassandra Wilson's New Moon Daughter or Blue Light 'Til Dawn) and think for a moment...My name is Tim Nall. I'm 33, married to a beautiful Chinese woman (Shu-Ping) and the proud owner of a stupid puppy named Beano. I'm also an English teacher in a very small town here in Taiwan.
I have a Master's Degree in Economics. After finishing college I worked as the Ass't Director of a homeless shelter for about two years, then joined missionary training program for a year and a half. Working in a homeless shelter was an eye-opening experience. Our particular shelter focused primarily on mentally ill women, although of course any woman was welcome if we had room... The missionary training program was a very "hands on" thing, instead of being scholarly, like a seminary. We worked in a Juvenile Delinquent Detention Center, in inner city communities, etc. I also tutored many Taiwanese students from nearby colleges in English ...That part of the St. Louis training program led to my Taiwanese contacts. I came to Taiwan to be a missionary, but God intervened through a strange set of circumstances ...Hmmm... So I went to Taiwan, found a job teaching English in a cram school (that's pretty easy to do here), and got a work visa. I first met my wife in church, less than two weeks after I arrived. We dated for a year, then married. Our second anniversary will be on the 16th of July.
We're pretty happy, but it's not always easy. Life is always good for Beano, since he's a little too dumb to have any problems.
Gosh, do you really really want to read more?
