The Clinton Crisis - A Biblical Response

by Gregory B. Dill

The following article was written on November 2, 1998.

For the past six months, we have all been inextricably inundated with stories, reports, and updates on the current Presidential crisis. Every means of communication have been utilized to disseminate the latest information: television, radio, newspaper, and now the internet. I’m even hearing it from the pulpit and Christian radio.

What all does the Bible have to say concerning this current crisis in the White House? Just how does the Bible address such issues as: adultery, lying, consequences, and forgiveness? And what does God's Word tell us about how we as Christians should be responding to the issues at hand? These questions and more will be the focus of this study.

But before I begin, I wish to assert that I do not belong to or endorse any particular political party or an affiliation thereof. I do however, have a tendency to favor the more conservative party, whichever one that might be. Neither am I a “Clinton-sympathizer” nor a “Clinton-basher”. I am simply a born-again Christian who desires the best for our country and for our families.
