Fifteen Jews were murdered by participants in the Third Crusade.

Conrad Grebel arrived to attend the 5,000-student University of Vienna. While here he engaged in a lot of fistfights and romantic liaisons, managing to pick up a sexually transmitted disease in the process. After 3 years he still had not earned a degree. (Go to 30 September 1518 below.)

Felix Manz arrived from Zurich to study under humanist professor, Vadian, at the University of Vienna.

1518

Conrad Grebel left Vienna and headed for Paris where, thanks to another scholarship, he continued his academic career.

1528

10 March 1528
Balthasar Hubmaier was bound to a cart, paraded through the streets, then burned at the stake. He was 48 years old.
13 March 1528
Elizabeth Hubmaier, Balthasar's wife, was drowned to death in the Danube River.

1545

Oswald Glaidt was taken prisoner, and held for over a year. (Go to 1546 below.)

1546

Oswald Glaidt was led out of town in the middle of the night, so that his friends would not see what happened to him, and drowned to death in the Danube. He was never given a trial or even charged with a crime.
