Henry Pfeiffer arrived in town to become pastor of the St. Nicholas Church.

August 1523
Henry Pfeiffer was banished from the city.

December 1523
Henry Pfeiffer returned after a brief banishment.


1524

10 August 1524
Thomas Muntzer arrived in Muhlhausen after escaping from Allstedt. He was welcomed by Henry Pfeiffer.

22-23 September 1524
Thomas Muntzer and Henry Pfeiffer drafted the Eleven Muhlhausen Articles, with the goal of unifying a radical opposition party composed of rural peasants and urban craftsmen.

27 September 1524
Thomas Muntzer and Henry Pfeiffer were banished by the city council for their agitation activities. Pfeiffer went to Nuremberg.

December 1524
Henry Pfeiffer returned to the city.


1525

January 1525
Radical activists removed altarpieces from the city's churches and attacked the local mendicant cloisters.

Hans Denck probably came here after his expulsion from Nuremberg but left before the town's occupation in May. He next appeared in Schwyz, Switzerland.

February 1525
Thomas Muntzer returned to the city.

March 1525
Thomas Muntzer and Henry Pfeiffer collaborated to incite a revolution here. The town council was overthrown and replaced by an "Eternal Council".

25 May 1525
Thomas Muntzer and Henry Pfeiffer were beheaded. Their bodies were exhibited on spears.
