|

1576

Giordano Bruno fled the city after being accused of heresy for his appeal to human reason over church authority. He became a wandering intellectual. In the following years he spent time lecturing and writing in Geneva, Paris, Oxford and London. He eventually had to leave each place when his views became too controversial.
