A joint synod of the Little Poland Calvinists and the Bohemian Brethren met in this town 30 miles north-east of Krakow. Their purpose was to discuss a publication written by Peter Gonesius which gave his "heretical" views on the divinity of Jesus. Gonesius showed up at the meeting but was excluded on account of his "Arianism".
