- Iwan Tyszkiewicz, a member of the anti-trinitarian Minor Church, was beheaded as a rebel in the marketplace. Before his execution his tongue was cut out as punishment for blasphemy. Since he was convicted of throwing a crucifix on the ground, one hand and foot were cut off. Finally, since he was also convicted of heresy, his body was burned. Iwan is considered the first martyr of Unitarianism as an organized movement.
