UW-Madison School of Pharmacy Open House , is the date of UW-Madison's School of Pharmacy Open House. ____________________ Scheduling for 2002-2003 Completed The process of students selecting their courses for the 2002-2003 school year is complete. We hope parents were involved in this process. The decisions students make each year in selecting courses defines the options that are open to them as they finish high school. Your experience and input assist them in making those decisions. A short-term outlook does not always help students in the long-term. Staffing, courses to be run, along with the number of sections of each course, will be determined by the number of students that signed up for each course. This is why we have rules on course changes after this point. Students can adjust their course selections up to the end of the current school year, provided the course(s) are still available and there is room available. If a student gives serious thought to their original selections, they can avoid needing to change a course.
____________________ SCHOLARSHIPS/FINANCIAL AID A number of scholarships for college/tech school bound seniors are now available. Information on them can be found on the door of Mr. Boehlke's office. The list is updated as new scholarship information is received. ____________________ COLLEGE BOUND SENIORS Seniors planning to attend college next fall should be starting the application process. By applying early, students don't have to worry about application deadlines, or programs being full. At some schools, dorm assignments are filled by date of application. Students should also check with their counselor on admission test requirements. Students needing to take an ACT exam, should sign up for the next available test date. ____________________
Class Standing Determined by Credits In order to advance to sophomore standing, a student must have earned a minimum of 3.5 credits. Those freshmen that earned less than 3.5 credits will remain classified as freshmen. Sophomores need to have earned a minimum of 9 credits to advance to junior standing. Juniors need to have earned a minimum of 14.5 credits to advance to senior standing. Students that do not advance in class standing and wish to get back on track, can work towards this by taking extra courses during the regular school year and/or through summer school. Students having questions about this policy should see their counselor.
