Introduction to the Conference
For
most of this country’s history, philosophy has been confined primarily to
academies of higher learning where its relevance to the everyday lives and
concerns of ordinary people has largely been either ignored, overlooked, or
unappreciated. Thus, the primary goal of the International Conference for
Philosophical Practice is to promote the awareness of philosophy’s importance
to the concerns and issues affecting our everyday personal and professional
lives.
Central
topics include but are not limited to:
Abstracts and Evaluations
Abstracts only (limited to
500 words) and a brief, one-page CV may be submitted electronically to Dr.
Samuel Zinaich, Jr. (zinaich@calumet.purdue.edu).
The organizers will oversee a peer-review process for all the submitted abstracts. Selection will be based on originality, clarity, and anticipated conceptual depth. Revised versions of some of the (full-length) papers will appear in the conference proceedings of the International Journal of Philosophical Practice.
