THE SEA
                             by Martin Zialcita

There is a darkness A fortress of mist
In the empty scene; Appeared before
A pervading presence The seekers of joy,
Echoing in the air. And a smile
                                                Danced on the lips
A Spanish Galleon crosses Of the orphaned child.
      The lonely waters -
Searching for land As the ship drew near,
In the endless sea. The castle of dreams
                                                Faded into the air
A child wishes And was swept up
For an answer - into the gloomy sky.
      Lost and helpless
In the ocean of The journey continues...
         Sorrows. And hope is swallowed
                                                by the ocean of
      Orphaned he was, Sorrows.
      Left alone to drift
With the Galleon of Hope -
      Wanting to leave
      All sorrows.
