Personal History

I was born in December 1942 in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

I grew up in Oak Ridge, Tennessee and graduated from Oak Ridge High School. I was quite active in the Boy Scouts and received the rank of Eagle Scout with bronze , gold ,and silver palms, and was a Brotherhood member of the Order of the Arrow.

I graduated with a B.S. in Physics from the University of Tennessee .
I later received a M.Sc. in Computer Science from Southeastern Institute of Technology in Huntsville, Alabama
. I now live in Maysville, a tiny community about 12 miles east of Huntsville.

I am retired as a Research Physicist at the U.S. Army Aviation & Missile Command, Redstone Arsenal, Alabama . I also am a part-time instructor at Calhoun Community College in Huntsville.
I am also employed part-time as a web page design consultant.

I am married and have three grown children and four grandchildren (2 girls and 2 boys). We are also the proud owners of an obese 20-lb tomcat named Chester.

Honors I have received include Phi Beta Kappa , Phi Kappa Phi , Kappa Mu Epsilon , Sigma Pi Sigma , and the Commander's Award for Civilian Service.

My hobbies are stamp collecting , computers , gardening , medieval European history , reading , and, of course, Masonry .

Masonic History

Blue Lodge:Initiated and Passed (Dec.1968), Raised (Jan.1969) in Apollo Lodge 921, F&AM, Huntsville, AL. Transferred to Solar Lodge 914 in Huntsville in 1972. Served in all stations and was Worshipful Master in 1980-81. Received Grand Lodge of Alabama Ritual Proficiency Certificate in 1972. Currently a dual member of Gurley Lodge 521, Gurley, AL.

York Rite: Eunomia Chapter #5, RAM (Past High Priest), Eureka Council #5, R&SM (Past Illustrious Master), Huntsville Commandery #7, KT (Past Commander), all in Huntsville. Past Grand High Priest, Grand Royal Arch Chapter of Alabama (1987-88); Past Grand Commander, Grand Commandery Knights Templar of Alabama (1996-97).

Scottish Rite:Received 4°-32° in Valley of Huntsville AASR Bodies. Past Wise Master, Huntsville Chapter of Rose Croix. Elected to receive 33°, October, 1999. Participant in several degrees; degree master of 21°.Currently serving as General Secretary of the Huntsville Scottish Rite Bodies.
