The Community of Darul Arqam

Darul Arqam is a part of I.S.A.T., The Islamic Society of Arlington, Texas. I.S.A.T. was established in June of 1983, as a not-for-profit, tax-exempt, religious organization, which is incorporated in the State of Texas. The Society recognizes Islam as a total way of life, and pledges to follow it's principles established by the Qu'ran and the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammed (peace be upon him), as understood and practiced by the righteous predecessors.
I.S.A.T. operates the Masjid located in Arlington, Texas, in the heart of the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area. The Arlington Masjid serves a large Muslim community. Friday, Eid, and the five Congregational prayers are held in the Masjid on a regular basis. Islamic educational sessions, seminars and study circles in all languages are held in the Masjid on a regular as well. The Islamic Society of Arlington provides a variety of community services, such as family counseling, Nikah ceremonies, funeral services and the collection and distribution of Zakah.
In addition to Darul Arqam full time Islamic School, the Arlington Masjid also operates a supplementary weekend Islamic school for children ages 5 years and above. During the Summer months, the school expands it's operation and teaches Monday-Thursday. Last summer semester we had more than 250 students enrolled in the summer school. Half of that total are now enrolled at Darul Arqam Full-time Islamic School, Masha Allah!
Our community is growing at an unbelievably rapid rate, Alhamdullilah. The University of Texas at Arlington is right around the corner from the Arlington Masjid (also Tarrant County Junior College at Arlington), making our community convenient and practical for families and students.

The History of Darul Arqam

Darul Arqam's first year began in 1996. The first school year consisted of 45 students and 6 teachers. We held our classes in a small unventilated office building where the area was cramped and stuffy. In lieu of the troubles that arose throughout the first year, our kids continued to be exuberant, Masha Allah! May Allah (SWT) reward them for their patience, their endurance and their never-ending enthusiasm about their school, ameen! They were truly motivators for the entire staff throughout the year.
Masha Allah, we successfully completed the first school year of 1996-97. All Praises and Thanks are due solely to Allah (SWT), Our Creator...the Most Generous that has permitted us to open this school, and has blessed us with such great students.

Our Goals

First, and most importantly, our goal for all of our students is to aid in preserving their Islamic identity and protect them from dissolving in the society of the Non-Muslims. Secondly, we will, insha Allah, provide an Islamic environment to safeguard our children from the corrupt atmosphere of the public schools. Thirdly, we aim to improve each student's understanding and practice of the Qur'an, and the Sunnah of the Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him). And finally, we plan, with the Help of Allah (SWT) to build confident and creative personalities which are capable of facing modern day challenges.

Darul Arqam on the Move

The first year being over(Alhamdulilah - All Thanks due to Allah), it was time for our big move. Over the last 10 years (plus), our community has been raising funds to build a school. Alhamdulillah, we were able to raise enough money and build Darul Arqam from the ground up. The best part of our new school, is it is safely nestled right behind our masjid. The 1997-98 Year is Here!

Today we are pleased to say that we have over double the amount of students enrolled than last year, more dedicated teachers, and even a volunteer nurse on staff, Masha Allah!! This is truly a blessing from Allah! He is the Most Merciful, the Most Generous!
