A former monestery, the forester's house on an estate owned by the Graf Ballestroem became the home of Wilhelm and Walburger Schneider and their children, inlcuding Fr. Wilhelm Schneider, who occasionally celebrated mass in the tiny chapel behind the house. In the 1950s, his nephew (Otto's son) Fr. Herman Schneider celebrated a mass there, with the Graf serving as "altar boy". The owner eventually decided to move into the forester's house himself, and built a new house for the forester (Georg Scheisher--the son-in-law of the elder Wilhelm Schneider) across the road. I visited Breitenau in 1995. It still stands, located on a country road about 7 miles from the town of Hardheim, looking much like it did in the above photo.
