John J. Fitzgerald (b. 14 N 1857) was a native of Carnas, Ireland. He was the son of Edmund Fitzgerald. He worked as a spoonmaker for Simpson, Hall and Miller, where his future father-in-law, James O. Kennedy, and future brother-in-law, William H. Dunn were also employed.
On 14 November, 1887, John married Catherine E. Kennedy (24 F 1865--4 Dec 1893)They had two children:
Both Catherine and John succumbed to tuberculosis, she on 4 December, 1893, and he on 12 April 1901. The two young daughters were subsequently raised by their aunt, Margaret Dunn. It would appear as though neither married. They are buried with their parents at Holy Trinity Cemetery in Wallingford, CT.
