Chapter 3. Scientific Instruction Within Our System {209 words}
Most people would not have considered the Fifties and Sixties to be such a dark period in this country's history. However, that was a time when people began in an obvious way to turn from the Lord. The evidence, in my opinion, is clear! Yet, while describing the overall, spiritual decline of a nation, the information already presented is about more than just dead churches, non-spiritual entertainment, and changes within the public school system. If one looks still further beneath the surface, then another, more startling truth comes screaming forth, namely that a system such as ours during the Fifties, Sixties and the years following, which does not love, need, or want God, must have support from the scientific and academic communities. Because of such support, which has already existed in this country for much of the past thirty or so years, we now have a system, firmly in place, which makes learning the truth about the Lord, about right living, and about our creation even more difficult, if not totally impossible.
If, during my youth, the scientific community had embraced the God of the Bible and if the public school system had faithfully endeavored to teach the uncompromising, complete truth about our Lord and Creator, then the students of such rightly focused instruction would have almost certainly come through knowing much about the Lord. With that type of proper spiritual instruction from First through Twelfth Grades, most boys and girls would have become Christians at an early age.
But this type of universal conversion among our young has not and is not happening! Instead, because science and academia have leaned more toward the anti-God position, what most individuals have gotten and continue to get from these misleading, highly biased agents of society are half-truths and outright lies in the matters of spiritual truth. At the same time, the entertainment industry and the public school system, both of which are also a part of this system around us, have not picked up the slack in an attempt to teach the truth!
In this matter of spiritual truth and the teaching of the same, the scientific community has made and still makes little or no pretense concerning its stand. Largely speaking, just like the other components of this system around us, scientists have united with the anti-God crowd and generally labeled all would-be Christian believers as fanatics and mindless fools. Because most scientists openly reject the God of the Bible, most educators do also! Even those who are involved in producing the different forms of television and movie entertainment have gotten into the act. The scientists have said, "It ain't so. God didn't do it!," and those faithful followers of this propagandistic message have been and are very quick to follow along and teach the same.
The result of this kind of training is clear. What was started in the first half of this century through a couple of World Wars and the Great Depression has been perpetuated over these past thirty-plus years by scientists, educators, and the entertainment industry as a whole. The worst part of all of this, in my opinion, is that they have accomplished this feat of turning a whole generation from God by going after the young, vulnerable minds of our children.
For the most part, all of the agents of this system around us are responsible for widening the gap between spiritual truth and error. In 1967, I had mistakenly thought that I alone was being fooled and led from God. Little did I realize, at that time, that this whole spiritual problem is system wide and that it is applicable to all. In 1967, I had thought that my problems were only relevant to me and to me alone. But because everyone is being affected by the system's wayward, biased instruction, both in and out of the public schools, this thing stopped being about just me a long time ago! During the second half of this century, an entire generation of people and perhaps even several generations have been impacted to the point that most people know very little about the God Who created them. Many more know nothing, at all, about really living for and pleasing Him!
It is little wonder that most individuals in our world today are at a loss when it comes to knowing the truth about Creation and other spiritual matters. We have been and are literally being brainwashed into accepting a very clever adversary's anti-God message. Without God ever getting a fair hearing, we and our children have become and are still becoming the victims of these kinds of false teachers. Equally as tragic, though, as we shall see in the next few chapters, is that the scientific community has not been completely open and truthful in its dealings with society and its citizens. The system around us gets much of its anti-God ammunition from science. Yet, much of that ammunition is shallow and unsubstantiated. The first case in point is the Theory of Evolution, and right on its heels is the Big Bang theory!
Over the next four chapters, each of these theories will be presented. Since this book is not meant to be an exhaustive scientific text, only high level information will be discussed. The main point of the conversation will be that, despite all of the favorable press from within our society, neither theory can be proven. They have been propped up by subjective computer models and dotted here and there with scattered bits of seemingly reasonable information, but neither has accumulated the kind of credible data that warrants such widespread, unquestioned acceptance. As these next four chapters are read, please keep in mind the overall purpose of this text and do not be bothered by the few details that are mentioned. It will not be important for anyone to understand everything that is being said about these theories, only that neither theory can be proven by using the normal regimens of scientific inquiry.
