Chapter 31. In the Midst of a Conspiracy {243 words}
Over the next three chapters, an attempt will be made to use the eighty-four assorted Facts and Observations to piece together what all this evidence actually suggests about a Creator and the Creator process. In doing this, we shall answer some difficult questions and also try to see what has happened and is happening in our universe and times. Is the Big Bang theory true or false? Even among many scientists, the answer is not completely clear. Some agree. Some disagree. But based on an honest appraisal of ALL the evidence, what can one actually know for sure?
Our objective in the coming pages will be to answer these tough questions, as well as to investigate some other very similar questions about the Theory of Evolution. Is the Theory of Evolution true, or is it false? What can one really know for certain about that theory? Given all the information, do the Facts and Observations presented support either the Big Bang theory or the Theory of Evolution, or do they support neither? After critiquing the scientific position, then what about the Christian perspective? Does the evidence really support a Genesis creation, or is this also a belief which cannot be proven? In conclusion, if one only considers the Facts, then what do those Facts actually show about the origin of the universe and the beginnings of this life?
The approach to be used for this part of the analysis will proceed along a simple format. First, the noteworthy highlights of the Big Bang theory will be presented. That information, which will only be a short summary of the earlier discussions, will be based solely on the already mentioned scientific Facts. After that, some new information about this theory will be given, followed by a conclusion about the overall theory. At the end of this short review, a similar type analysis will be offered for the Theory of Evolution. The scientific highlights of that theory will be briefly summarized, followed by a final conclusion of the whole theory, again emphasizing "ALL" the Facts!
The Facts used in this evaluation will come from the eighty-four Facts and Observations which have already been established. These Facts will be treated as truth because either they have been proven, they can be proven, or because most or all people recognize the given information as truth. An Observation, on the other hand, will be handled only like an opinion, simply because it has not and possibly cannot be proven. In this way, the actual truth should surface, rather than just a single person's opinion. The intent will be to stick only to hard, credible evidence and to ensure that individual thoughts and opinions do not interfere with the overall, truth-seeking process.
In trying to understand the true origins of this life, one might question the rationale for combining all of these diverse forms of data. After all, scientists have typically overlooked, or just plain ignored, spiritual truth. Many times, they have and still do dismiss matters of the Faith as faith only and never actually see spiritual data as having any genuine relevancy to this type of discussion. My opinion, however, is that a thorough analysis probably cannot be accomplished unless all of the information is considered, even the so-called matters of the Faith. The most recent scientific findings are obviously important if one is to really understand either the Big Bang theory or the Theory of Evolution, but so are the spiritual findings! One cannot understand the origins of this life and leave out the issue of God altogether. Similarly, the data which pertain to the system around us are important, too, because those Facts show this whole debate from a very different slant, one which probably more than anything else puts this whole discussion into its more realistic and more accurate context. An understanding of the truth about one's origin is only possible when a person carefully examines and considers all the available information concerning our Creation, not just selected bits and pieces!
