Appendix A. Summary of the Facts and Observations {254 words}

Provided below is a listing of all the Facts and Observations which were developed in this text. As was noted earlier, Facts are treated as provable items, while Observations are only treated like opinions. Accordingly, the complete list is as follows.

  • 1. Observation 2INTRO-1: During the Fifties and Sixties, many churches to me seemed to be dead and cold. As a young person, I did not recognize more than one or two spiritual beings who could serve as valid role models. Most of the people I knew seemed to be wrapped up in the things of the world, not in God.
  • 2. Fact 2INTRO-2: During the Fifties and Sixties, the entertainment industry produced some good shows, but none which really taught the viewer about God or about the importance of living for the Lord. Note that good moral training is not the same as godly, spiritual instruction!
  • 3. Fact 2INTRO-3: In 1959, morning Bible devotions and school prayer were taken out of the Public School system. From that time until now, biblical training has not been allowed.
  • 4. Fact 2E-1: The American Dream is for each succeeding generation to have life better than the current. For that reason, education, world peace, having a good job, and making a lot of money are considered by most to be very important and highly desirable.
  • 5. Observation 3intro-1: The system around us, which does not love, need, or want God, must have support from the academic and scientific communities.

    a. Facts and Observations - The Theory of Evolution {170 words}

  • 6. Fact 4C-1: The Theory of Evolution cannot explain how life evolved from the two lower vertebrae classes, namely amphibians and fishes, into the three higher classes of mammals, birds, and reptiles.
  • 7. Fact 4E-1: The probability that the exactly right atmospheric conditions needed for evolution were ever met is very slim. The actual statistic used by two well-known researchers is one chance in ten raised to the forty-thousandth power chances. Yet, without those exact conditions, evolved life probably would not have happened in the same way if, at all, as the theory predicts.
  • 8. Fact 4G-1: The Theory of Evolution lacks a reliable, detailed fossil record which could show and support the progression of evolutionary processes over time. In fact, the available data are especially weak in demonstrating evolution at the macro level across different species.
  • 9. Fact 4J-1: Despite the difficulties with this theory, the Theory of Evolution is taught in Public Schools as the probable origin of life.

    b. Facts and Observations - The Big Bang Theory {521 words}

  • 10. Fact 5A-1: The galaxies are receding, hence are all moving away from each other. This motion of the galactic bodies creates the impression that they were at one time much closer together, thus providing the basis for the Big Bang theory.
  • 11. Fact 5A-2: Scientists have recorded equally intense cosmic microwave background radiation arriving to the earth from all directions within the universe. This discovery has suggested a homogeneous or smoothe early universe.
  • 12. Fact 5A-3: The light elements of hydrogem, helium, and lithium exist within the universe in proportions which are consistent to those predicted by the Big Bang theory. However, this means that the dark matter, which cosmologists have fabricated, cannot be comprised of "known" chemical elements. Instead, if dark matter exists, at all, then it must do so in some unknown chemical form.
  • 13. Fact 6INTRO-1: The discovery of galaxy superclusters has brought into question the original estimate for the universes relatively young age. In fact, the data suggest that the supercluster galaxies which exist within the universe are actually older than the universe, itself. This, of course, is an obvious contradiction!
  • 14. Fact 6INTRO-2: The universe has been observed to be very clumpy, not at all smooth, thus raising questions about how a smooth early universe could have ever become so non-smooth in its current distribution.
  • 15. Fact 7A-1: In addition to Fact 5A-1, cosmologists have also acknowledged the factual validity of Facts 5A-2, 5A-3, 6INTRO-1, and 6INTRO-2. As a result, they have been scrambling to explain how a clumpy universe can exist along with the equally intense microwave radiation, how the existence of galaxy superclusters can exist within a universe which computes to a younger age, and how so much dark matter can exist but still not be made of "known" chemical elements. To this end, they have concocted a two-step expansion, called the Inflationary Model. They have also defined a universe in which ninety to ninety-nine percent of all matter is invisible. Even though it is a fact that cosmologists cannot prove any of these ideas, they have boldly hypothesized a universe which is sixty-nine percent Cold Dark Matter (CDM), thirty percent Hot Dark Matter (HDM), and only one percent of the "seen" matter, which is also called atomic matter. In his book, In the Beginning: After COBE and Before The Big Bang, Dr. John Gribbin clearly and logically explains each of these concepts [1]. Of course, none of them are proven! They are only presented.
  • 16. Fact 7E-1: The Big Bang theory is less than fifty years old. It cannot be proven! Yet, it is taught in Public Schools and even presented on educational television across America as the probable or at least a strongly possible origin of the universe.

    c. Facts and Observations - System Impact {477 words}

  • 17. Observation 8A-1: People who live within the system around us have been trained or brainwashed to not seek the Lord, also to not question the absence of a spiritual setting. In this system around us, God is clearly not thought to be very important.
  • 18. Observation 8C-1: Young people who are not taught about the Lord grow up with a natural tendency to never accept Him.
  • 19. Observation 8C-2: Because of such widespread, anti-God instruction, we are becoming or have become a nation without God.
  • 20. Observation 8C-3: Society pays a high price in terms of crime, drug and alcohol abuse, immorality, and so on because of its total neglect of spiritual matters.
  • 21. Observation 8C-4: A people, who know very little or nothing about God, experiences a steady decline in its standards.
  • 22. Observation 8C-5: Because of the lack of spiritual instruction for this nation's children, most kids grow up knowing very little about God and Christianity. As a result, many of these become victims to an atheistic viewpoint, many stumble into false religions, and of those who do embrace Christianity, many cannot even explain what they believe or why they believe it!
  • 23. Observation 8C-6: Also because of the lack of spiritual instruction for this nation's children, most young people grow up with very materialistic, selfish ideals. Great emphasis is placed on obtaining a strong education, getting that great job, and making a lot of money. By contrast, very little, if any, is placed on the importance of living for the Lord. This observation compares closely to Fact 2E-1 and Observation 13D-1.
  • 24. Observation 8H-1: Young people, who are not taught to turn to God, will naturally turn from Him. This observation is very similar to Observation 8C-1.
  • 25. Observation 9A-1: Knowing what really happened in the beginning is probably impossible.
  • 26. Fact 9C-1: If God does exist, then each individual needs to know exactly what He expects.
  • 27. Fact 9C-2: If there is an eternal judgment, then the Judge will decide according to His rules, not ours.
  • 28. Fact 9D-1: The debate about God's existence has gone on literally for centuries, even several millennia.
  • 29. Observation 9I-1: When a scientist or other intellect opposes God, many are easily intimidated and tend to follow.
  • 30. Fact 9K-1: God does not speak audibly or reveal Himself visually.
  • 31. Observation 10E-1: The cosmological, teleological, ontological, and moral law proofs might show or strongly suggest that God created the earth, but none of these show that He is still around or still needed.

    d. Facts and Observations - God's Existence {495 words}

  • 32. Fact 11A-1: The inflationary model of the Big Bang theory cannot be proven. It may not even be a viable physical theory.
  • 33. Observation 11C-1: Scientists have dedicated an inordinate amount of time trying to disprove God as Creator.
  • 34. Observation 11D-1: Showing God in a current setting is most important.
  • 35. Fact 11I-1: Scientists believe that they are on the verge of uncovering a whole system of laws and equations which will completely unlock all of the mysteries of the universe.
  • 36. Observation 11J-1: If God exists NOW, then His things must have survived.
  • 37. Observation 11J-2: If God exists NOW, then the ungodly will feel something missing or not quite right in their life by not having Him. All people without the Lord are looking for ways to fill something inside them which feels empty. The Lord creates this empty, void feeling, and He is the only One Who can fill it!
  • 38. Observation 11J-3: If God exists NOW, then the godly will not feel that same something missing in their life. God, through the Holy Spirit, fills the void.
  • 39. Observation 11J-4: If God exists NOW, then He must have the ability to change and improve those who receive Him.
  • 40. Fact 12B-1: God's things have survived.
  • 41. Observation 13D-1: To satisfy their inner void, those without the Lord often chase after temporal, earthly pursuits. Note the similarity of this observation to Fact 2E-1 and Observation 8C-6.
  • 42. Fact 13F-1: Christianity is more about possession than feelings, possession of the Holy Spirit of God.
  • 43. Fact 13G-1: Those who have the Holy Spirit of God dwelling within do not need further evidence that God exists.
  • 44. Fact 14C-1: Many have been tortured, even martyred for their faith in the Lord.
  • 45. Fact 15E-1: Just because something can be explained by natural causes, it does not mean that God did not cause it.
  • 46. Observation 16C-1: God speaks to one's heart. Compare to Fact 9K-1.
  • 47. Observation 16E-1: If one has the heart to believe a lie, then God will allow it. On the other hand, if one has the heart to know the truth, then He will reveal it.
  • 48. Fact 16F-1: We do not prove God. He proves Himself. Compare this truth to Observations 11J-1, 11J-2, 11J-3, and 11J-4 and recall that those four Observations make up what were earlier referred to as the "before" and "after" proofs of God's existence in a current setting.
  • 49. Fact 16H-1: All who seek the Lord find Him if they do so on His terms.

  • 53. Fact 17E-1: Jesus was murdered by people who tried to be absolutely certain that He was dead.
  • 54. Fact 17E-2: He foretold to others that He would be crucified, be dead for three days, then rise again.
  • 55. Fact 17F-1: Many witnesses, both Christian and non-Christian, have acknowledged His Resurrection.
  • 56. Fact 18E-1: Secular history has acknowledged the Resurrection of Christ.
  • 57. Fact 18G-1: The early Roman Empire acknowledged the Resurrection of Christ.

  • 60. Fact 20A-1: Jesus was scourged.
  • 61. Fact 20D-1: He was crucified.
  • 62. Fact 20K-1: Following the Resurrection, Christ's disciples were changed. They became bold witnesses for the Lord, and each lived for Him for the remainder of his life. Then, with the exception of the Apostle John, they died a martyr's death for Him.
  • 63. Fact 20L-1: The Swoon, Hallucination, Legend, and Stolen Body theories, which refute the Resurrection, are overturned by the enormous amounts of credible evidence.
  • 64. Fact 20N-1: The Resurrection provides positive evidence that the Lord's ministry was approved by God. Therefore, a person can trust what Jesus did and said.
  • 65. Fact 20O-1: The Resurrection set Jesus apart from every other person who has ever lived. He is the Lord!
  • 66. Fact 20O-2: Christianity is the only religion which can boast of an empty tomb and a risen Saviour.

    f. Facts and Observations - God's Word {183 words}

  • 67. Fact 22A-1: Canonizing Scripture was important during the period of the early Church because it guarded against counterfeit manuscripts.
  • 68. Fact 23A-1: Fifty-six of the sixty-six Books of the Bible were authenticated either directly or indirectly by Jesus or by those who were very close to Him.
  • 69. Fact 23C-1: The other ten Books were accepted by the people of those times and were also thought by the early Church leaders to be from God. Thus, these Books were included in the traditional Bible, that is the Old and New Testaments, bringing the total to sixty-six.
  • 70. Fact 23D-1: None of the early Church leaders recognized the Apocrypha as being inspired. As a result, they were not included in the original Canon.
  • 71. Fact 24INTRO-1: Archaeology provides strong evidence for the Bible.
  • 72. Fact 24INTRO-2: Nothing uncovered by archaeologists has ever successfully refuted any part of the Bible.
  • 73. Fact 24C-1: The Dead Sea Scrolls verified the quality of the early copying methods and showed that the Bible has been well preserved since Its beginning.

    g. Facts and Observations - Some New Information {299 words}

  • 74. Observation 28G-1: The Genesis accounts of the devil in Heaven and of Adam and Eve in the Garden sound like a fairy tale.
  • 75. Fact 28G-2: According to Ezekiel 28:14-18, the devil was blameless until wickedness was found in him. According to Isaiah 14:12-14, the devil wanted to be like God. Because Satan opposed God in battle, he was cast out of Heaven to the earth.
  • 76. Fact 28G-3: According to Genesis 3:1-6, the devil tricked Eve into eating the forbidden fruit. This incident shows that Satan is sneaky and that he wanted Adam and Eve to stumble. Also note that the devil was successful because Adam and Eve did fall!
  • 77. Fact 28G-4: Eating the fruit, which was really just a form of disobedience against God, has brought a host of problems to humanity, mainly that all must die!
  • 78. Fact 29B-1: Satan was the fairest of all God's creations. He was the top angel and considered very special! But those attributes were not good enough for him. He had wanted more! Compare to Fact 28G-2.

  • 80. Fact 29D-1: The devil has been very successful in his objective of getting at God through human beings.
  • 81. Fact 29G-1: The Lord leads. However, the devil is always nearby to counter with deception and distraction.
  • 82. Fact 29I-1: The devil will go to any length to get at God. Very little is beyond him, and he does have a fair amount of power.
  • 83. Fact 29J-1: The devil's days of success are numbered. He will suffer a major defeat at the end of the seven-year Tribulation.
  • 84. Fact 30B-1: God loves us. Because He does, we are allowed many freedoms.
