Let's see, I guess I should start at the beginning. I was born on December 7, 1977 in Dominica (not the Dominican Republic). I moved with my family to St. Maarten, Netherlands Antilles when I was about 7 years of age and stayed there for about three years. Then we packed up and moved to Tampa, Fl USA. I attended Hillsborough Community College where I was a member of the Honors Program and the international honor society, Phi Theta Kappa. I moved to Miami in January '97, to continue my studies at Florida International University where I majored in International Relations with certification in Latin American and Caribbean Studies. I was a member of the Honors College,Golden Key National Honor Society, and the Caribbean Student Association. In adddition, I participated in the FIU Foodrunners which is a project that provides food and other necessary items to Miami's homeless population and in Operation Green Leaves which is a non-profit organization dedicated to the reforestation of Haiti. Enough about school. Phew! Other than studying hard to please the International Relations Department at school, I enjoyed other things such as listening to music, traveling to the beautiful isles of the Caribbean, reading interesting books, snorkeling, going out with friends, surfing the net, and keeping up with international events, especially in the developing world. I graduated with my Bachelor's degree in the summer of '98 and moved back to Tampa, Florida. I took a year off to work for Aerial Communications, a mobile phone company and travel (i.e. Canada, four countries in Europe, and one in Western Africa). Thereafter, I began the Master's program in Public Administration in the Spring of '00 at the University of South Florida, and I am in my final year of grad school! I also work for the State of Florida's Department of Children and Families in Protective Services, dealing with children who have been abused, abandoned, or neglected.
