Welcome to the MFO home page.
This page is in no way commissioned by the United States Government,
but a venture by one individual to help explain some of the aspects
of a little known, but highly effective peace keeping force and his small
role in "Helping to keep the peace in the middle east!" As the
Non-commissioned Officer in Charge, it is my responsibility to ensure
that the mission is accomplished first and foremost, then the welfare of my
soldiers and finally my own needs can be met. With over 18 years
dedicated to protecting our democracy, this "Mission, Men and Me"
mentality is almost second nature. Without the "soldier in the trenches"
to keep the "machinery" oiled and running smoothly, all would be for
nought, so it is to them that this page is dedicated.
The XVIII Airborne Corps, MFO Liaison Office, located at Ft. Bragg, NC, is assigned the mission of assisting and coordinating the many actions necessary to maintain such a force located so far from our home shores. Acting as liaison for the U.S. Army Infantry Battalion, the 29 man U.S. Army Element (staff), and the First Support Battalion located in the Sinai Peninsula, Egypt, we are constantly talking with high ranking government officials in Israel, Egypt and the United States. There are five dedicated soldiers working long hours with little recognition or fanfare at this "real world" mission of peace. An Officer and four Non-commissioned Officers that combined, bring more than 100 years of experience to this mission, are a tight knit team of professionals. We strive to ensure a smooth flow of information and transition of personnel to and from the Sinai, Egypt, as well as assist with the application for passports and obtaining country clearances for all visitors. This office is responsible for maintaining the records of soldiers assigned to the MFO and to maintain its own combat readiness. For all its complicated nuances and trying times, it is a fulfilling, rewarding and exciting experience, helping to maintain world peace and stability! |
