Somewhere in the shade of this clothesline
In this temporary shelter from the sun
I daydream
In the grass
With the bugs and dirt
The earth
Where all creation began
From the trees and sky sprung gods
And stories
A million stories
To which I pay no attention
In a world where people worship Jesus Christ through their Television
Where people go to some building to worship plaster statues
That they have glorified
Loved
Idolized
Evied
Only to say they love god
To hide their wrongs
Only to say they'll go to heaven because they've told some man with a cross
they've sinned
What is heaven?
What is sin?
Something we read about in a book?
Nirvana?
Do we not say "God" gives us all we need?
God did not give us TV's
Radio's
Cars or computers
And who do these things hurt?
The earth
Without the earth we can not survive
The earth gives us all we need
Teaches us all we need to know
Is the wind not a whisper from our creator?
Is the sky not a gift to occupy us
An empty canvas for our minds to wander and imagine?
We have beautiful fruits an vegetables and animals to feed us
If we are not first consumed with greed
The earth gives us wood and stone to build shelter through the seasons
And water to quench our thirst
All we need to live is at the tips of our fingers
We choose not use them
We choose to rely on man made illusions to make lifes work a little easier
All the natural escapes from reality
Are gifts from earth
All we need to pass the time
All these things are of the earth
So I ask you, who / what is god?
