Wake Up!
Wake up young men of color
For you have a job to do
No longer can you turn your back on your brother
But give him a hand or two
No matter the age
Two, twenty-four or forty five
This burden has been given to you
To keep the black man alive
Its time for a change
A new milestone to cross
Give your brother direction
Save souls from being lost
On the T.V ,each night I see
Someone the same complexion
As you and me
I watch all tense inside
Knowing another one of my brothers
Is going for the deadly police ride
Now, I am just a sister
With my ideals of a man
If you feel I am wrong
Set me straight, IF YOU CAN!!
