What Else Can I Say

My child have I not taught you anything
or were you just not listening
I told you of my struggle with making the ends to meet
I told you how they treated me and took me to the street
I showed you the scars from the whips and chains
I expressed to you the feeling of unimaginable pain

But still you insist on doing
Whatever your hearts content
Disregarding the consequences
of how your time is spent

There is only so much I can do
to help you along the way
But if you choose not listen
What else can I say.
