Black

My Indian sisters
do not know me
yet they despise my world
though I am one of them
they shy away
my skin to dark to belong

My African brotha's
know about me
still they despise my mixed blood
their land can never be mine
my blood not pure enough to belong

My American sista's and brotha's
do not trust me
yet they ask me to unite
be proud of your brown skin
deny your mixed heritage
you are African-American!

If that is what I am
then why does my soul feel
