I've actually seen every
film in which Russell has performed, with only the Brides of Christ series having
alluded me. Yet, still, this page is not finished. Why? Well mainly because
I can't stay off the message boards and email lists long enough to write thoughtful
reviews the way I intend! Secondly, an more to the point, for some reason I
can't explain, I have a hard time deconstructing these films, especially my
favorites: Gladiator, A Beautiful Mind, The Insider, L.A. Confidential.
It's like trying to describe why the Venus de Milo is the most beautiful piece
of sculpture I've ever seen (it is). I can discuss other films subjectively,
but these I can't. I'll work on it. If you're willing to wait a while longer,
please continue to stop by every once in awhile to see how far I've gotten.
FAR
SIDE OF THE WORLD (2002)
WARNING: This page, of all the pages of the Barbarian Horde site, is by
far the most subjective and personal. Being a fan of the big screen, it's difficult
to discuss Russell Crowe's films and his performances without revealing how he
moved her with each performance - how he moved me - I am now slipping into first
person point of view.
