Dance Meditation (RA1014), Carla DeSola, Instructor (CARE)
From focused prayer, gently flowing into movement, we enter into dance meditation. Thus, the sacred dancer demonstrates through her/his body a balance of stillness and action. Offered to enhance personal spirituality as well as preparation for liturgical expression in dance, students will be guided into discovering and expressing the movement wisdom of their bodies. Included are ritual dance/movement meditations and warm-ups suitable for home, retreats and other sacred settings. Open to all with or without dance background. Dance Meditation is offered by the Center for the Arts, Religion & Education (CARE).

Dance As Living Srcipture (RA1021), Carla DeSola, Instructor
"O the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God!" Engaging one's whole being in dialogue with sacred scripture, we discover new layers of meaning and relevance. The text opens, alive with motion, rhythm, shape and dynamics. The story moves, and we are moved. Students learn dance prayers, basic dance exercises, improvisation and crafts of composition. Through individual and group dance studies, prayers, music and readings, a totality emerges as a fresh exegesis of scriptures chosen for their challenging material. No previous dance experience is necessary.
