Please, no duplicating, copying, or distribution without my consent. -------------------------------------------------------------- I sat outside upon a bench Staring up at the sky of night And my thoughts were truly saddened As I glanced at the fading light I am no passing beauty My face is truly plain And there’s nothing there to offer You would have to be insane I knew that I held nothing That would attract the only one He who was my favorite He who was the sun But then I heard a noise Something from behind And as I turned around It was him, so good and kind I turned away to leave them But then he caught my arm Please don’t leave, he whispered I won’t do you any harm He drew me in his arms And tilted up my face And when I met his eyes I was in a different place There were so deep and voidless I felt like I would fall But he would hold me close And broke down my only wall He saw the person in me The true beauty that was inside He saw this other person That was now alive He had seen the other one Almost from the start And it mattered not to him My face, but instead my heart And then I closed my eyes Thinking I would cry His presence so warm and close From my mouth escaped a sigh And then a high pitched whine And the world began to fade The presence so close disappeared Along with that silent glade I opened up my eyes To view the plain white walls My face still so plain Myself, still so small Twas all a simple dream And there was no shining guy There was no wondrous presence And on my bed I lie But now there is a difference There’s a beauty inside of me And maybe somewhere out there Is the guy that was my dream
