Please, no duplicating, copying, or distribution without my consent. -------------------------------------------------------------- My eyes scan the air Through the treetops Clouds soar above It is the forest The forest is a nice place Birds chirping The sun is warm The trail welcoming My feet fall softly No sound issuing Just the sound of gravel And the running river The sound of nature It’s so calming To be with nature To be myself I’m alone here Upon this path And behind me is society Behind me are the cities Behind me is the smog And too many rules Too many demands It’s what I want to leave behind Would I rather he here In the forest; so calm Or in the cities With technology; with pollution It’s so hard to say To be close to nature Or to be civilized Freedom, or to be jailed
