Meeting
Role: Toastmaster

Purpose:
The main duties of the Toastmaster are to conduct the meeting
and to keep the meeting on schedule.
Before the meeting:
- If there is a theme, let other participants know in
advance.
- Call the Grammarian, Table Topics Master, General
Evaluator and speakers to confirm their duties.
- Prepare introductions for each speaker.
- Prepare some remarks to bridge the gap between
segments.
During the meeting:
- Arrive early to finish last minute details.
- Sit near the front of the room to keep transitions
smooth.
- Ask your "crew" to introduce their roles: Jester, Grammarian, Timer, Ballot Counter, etc.
- Give
a quality introduction for each speaker.
- Always
lead applause before and after each speaker and segment.
- Use the suggested meeting guide for the meeting.
Recommendations:
- Prepare and give quality introductions for the
Table Topics Master and for the General Evaluator.
- Confer with the President, General Evaluator, and
Ballot Counter to agree who will hand out the awards.
