Taylor idily walked around his house. He was bored. Nobody was home and there was nothing for him to do. Isaac had gone to his friend, Jason's house, Zac had gone rollerblading, and Mr. and Mrs. Hanson had taken the rest of the clan shopping. And so Taylor was bored. Bored, bored, bored, bored. The word rang over and over in his head in an endless tune.
He continued walking. He made his way into the kitchen and opened the refrigerator, rummaging around until he found a coke. He walked outside and headed over to his treehouse, taking long sips of the cold drink.
Taylor glanced at his watch. Brian had invited him to come over at 1:00 but it was only noon now. What to do, what to do? He lazily stretched out and stared down the street. A couple houses down a small girl was playing outside on a tricycle and loudly singing a song she had made up. Taylor smiled to himself. How cute. He glanced to the house to the right of his and did a double-take. Wait a minute! Sold? Someone actually bought it? It's sold?
Sure enough a Sold sign was nailed over the rusted For Sale sign. The Perkin's place had been up for sale for forever it seemed. Taylor remembered playing hide-and-go-seek and Commandoes over there when he was a little kid. It was rumored that it was haunted but Taylor himself had never seen a ghost.
I can't believe someone actually wanted to buy it. I hope they have kids are age. But please God, please don't let it be a girl who's obsessed with us. Oh please no!
She was in a car, driving to her new home. Though she didn't even know where it was. Her parent's had claimed it was some big secret. All she knew was that it was somewhere in Oklahoma and that she was moving into a big house with next-door neighbors that had a large family.
Oklahoma, the middle of nowhere. She thought bitterly. Actually there was one place in Oklahoma that Lesley wouldn't mind moving to. Tulsa. Hanson's in Tulsa. She thought wistfully. But knowing her parent's and how "in-tuned" they were to her life, that was probably the last place they would think to move to. They actually thought she wanted to move. Somehow they got the impression that she was just as excited as they were. Yeah right! I wanna go home! I want my old friends back. I don't want to move!
She felt tears coming to her eyes but she forced them back. She didn't want to cry anymore. Instead she began humming her song a little louder.
"God Lesley, will ya shut up! Stop singing that gay song! I hate those 3 faggots! I hope we do move to Hicksville or wherever they live so I can see them and just go off at them and tell them how gay they are and just how much they suck! Hanson is the worst band EVER!" Tommy Stansford yelled at his sister.
"Oh you shut up yourself! You suck! You're just jealous." She screamed back.
"Yeah whatever! There's nothing to be jealous of!"
"You just wish that you were in a band and had millions of girls in love with you. You're jealous because NOBODY likes you!"
"Kids! Stop it! I don't want to hear one more word out of the either of you!" Mrs. Stansford scolded.
Lesley scowled and sat back in her seat. I hate my family!
