Like a good film editor, an interface designer's best work is never seen; it's transparent.

Multimedia: Making it Work

Interface

According to Heba, the most important feature of a computer system is the interface, and deciding whether a multimedia program can be used through a keyboard, mouse, touch screen, or even a joystick is an important part of the information map that will orient the user to the product (131). The interface provides control to people using the multimedia program. It also provides access to the media, text, graphics, video, animation, and audio. A well-designed interface allows the user to easily move about within the project and effectively use windows, backgrounds, icons, and control panels.
