Visual Information

According to Heba, visual information works on two levels. The first level is the screen itself, which is a visual display. The second level is the information contained on the screen, which is visually displayed. The screen, of course, is a large part of the communication environment. Heba suggest that a gestalt approach to visual design in multimedia environments can be used to integrate both levels of visuals into one coherent overall design (133). In other words, the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.
