American Goulash
Ingredients
- 1 lb macaroni
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 med onion, diced
- 1 med green bell pepper, diced
- Salt & pepper to taste
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 (15 oz) can diced tomatoes
Instructions
- Cook the macaroni according to package instructions.
- Brown the ground beef in a large pot, drain off fat.
- Add the onion, green bell pepper, and spices. Cook until the onions are translucent.
- Add the diced tomatoes and cooked macaroni.
- Heat through and serve.
Theory of the Dish
I grew up eating my dad's real Hungarian Goulash. I was very surprised the first time someone served me this and called it Goulash. I cheated a bit with this, the paprika and tomatoes should be canned tomato sauce.
